I agree! I picked up [RetroPie](https://retropie.org.uk/) again during the pandemic. I'm sure many did the same haha. That's when I learned [N64 emulation is difficult](https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Optimization-for-Nintendo-64/). Well done. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
I would have thought a well set-up Raspberry pie running RetroPie in a nice case (e.g. https://thepihut.com/products/superpi-4-case-for-raspberry-pi-4) and a couple of decent controllers would be the best thing. Source: 5 months ago
This website has step by step instructions on how to set up a RetroPie. It is really easy. Source: 10 months ago
The most I am familiar with emulators of that era is retro pi https://retropie.org.uk/. Source: 11 months ago
Https://retropie.org.uk/ is the official site. Source: 11 months ago
Neither of those is retropie. You might have better luck asking over at /r/batocera. Source: 11 months ago
If you are not so fixed on 'DOS' games and just want games from that era, then there is also something like this:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zu3pjvdSHI which is a raspberry pi based environment using retropi https://retropie.org.uk/. Source: about 1 year ago
Hey thanks for the links!! I was just looking at how to build my own cabinet as I have some Raspberry Pi/RetroPie experience. This seems like a good solution that I can just pay for. Though if I build my own I can set it to whatever height/size I want. Maybe I'll build the mythic 6 player X-Men cabinet. . I could use better quality wood and pay around the same price. I just don't really know who to contact to make... Source: about 1 year ago
I mostly play emulated games on my https://retropie.org.uk/ system. So I just drop things in the directory structure that needs. Source: about 1 year ago
If you have any background in technology, you can get RetroPi setup pretty quick: https://retropie.org.uk/. Source: about 1 year ago
So I got a Libre AML-S905X-CC (Le Potato) to play around with but all the ideas I see online are about emulating games, running a nas, running ad blocker, vpn server, 3d printer, website hosting. All these just seem like these would be better to run on an actual server or the ideas are lame, basic, and overused. I just want some useful things that only these single board computers can do to justify their purpose.... Source: about 1 year ago
I don't know what it is about 4 year old boys and TMNT, but my son became a huge fan the first time he saw them. I have a retro gaming area set up in my basement and he always wants to play the TMNT arcade games. I don't know how tech savvy you are, but a retro pie isn't too hard to set up. You can probably also use the joy cons on it. Source: about 1 year ago
I think the ideal solution would be something like Retropie, and they'd have all the major retro systems at higher quality than the official solutions with native 240p output. No light gun support though. Source: about 1 year ago
There are entire distributions dedicated to the concept. Source: about 1 year ago

PS1 is easy to emulate so outside of the cost of your controller, it's functionally free,as long as you are okay with piracy (and if you want to spend a bit more. Buy yourself a raspberry Pi and turn it into a RetroPie (which can emulate PS1) so you could just plug it into your TV and play versus your PC. Source: over 1 year ago
Or buy a Raspberry Pi microcomputer and turn it into a RetroPi. Play anything you want from Atari 2600-N64 (if you get a Pi 4 B+) or an older Pi for NES, GBA, GB, SEGA, SNES, PS1, etc. Source: over 1 year ago
What do you mean 64 GB image? Did you download RetroPie from https://retropie.org.uk/ or the Raspberry Pi Imager? Source: over 1 year ago
Retropie if it's purely for emulation replace windows with lakka or retropie x86 Https://retropie.org.uk/ https://www.lakka.tv/. Source: over 1 year ago
I am no expert, I've only installed retropi several times on Rpi3B+. I had several setbacks, usually setting things up after initial installs, so don't be discouraged by setbacks. I didn't want to leave you hanging, but I think you will benefit if you go here Retropie.org To learn as much as you can/need as there are very detailed guides that should enable you to get back to playing games. If you have any issues... Source: over 1 year ago
