  I know I can go with my rental companies insurance which allows me to walk away from a car that I've driven into a volcano for an extra £400...   I use Avis Thailand (avisthialand.com, not the global Avis.com site). They've always been really reasonable prices and cheaper than rentalcars.com too. They also have monthly rates. But make sure you take out full comprehensive insurance (either from the rental company or a separate company that does rentals insurance), because the rental company WILL find tiny scratches and bill you for hundreds of pounds.
