I know I can go with my rental companies insurance which allows me to walk away from a car that I've driven into a volcano for an extra £400... But I am wondering if anyone has used rentalcars.com insurance offer and found it either protected them against sand/gravel/ash damage or that it didn't? Source: over 1 year ago
I had used rentalcars.com but then after a while I started getting nervous (I read the voucher). I did more research and the company I had picked had really sketchy reviews. So, last week I booked with Lotus (was about $700 more but with a better plan) and canceled the other company. I immediately felt better. Source: over 1 year ago
I think you imagine this more complicated as it is. I've experienced processes of car rental companies as speedy and comfortable. We always book via rentalcars.com at a premium rental company. This gives you a significant discount. I use rentalcars.com only for the rental - NOT for the additional insurance. This you get from the front desk member when you pick up the car. Do note that insurance from rental car platforms like rentalcars.com is different from the insurance sold by the rental car company itself. And AMEX doesn't cover liability such as 3rd party injuries. Source: over 1 year ago
As an international traveler who is looking for the least expensive car, you are likely better off shopping for a better rate among a variety of rental companies (e.g., rentalcars.com or Expedia) rather than using the Platinum Card Benefit. Hertz's pricing algorithm changes rates frequently though and it's not usual to see significant price differences in rental cars even in a 24 hour period. To be clear, having... I would prebook the car via one of the aggregators like https://rentalcars.com – those will find the best deal for you. I only advise against accepting the insurance from the aggregator. Instead purchase the full coverage from the insurance company during the pick up. Even if that's slightly more expensive, that's much less hassle if something happens. Source: almost 2 years ago
I was in a situation where booking.com. rentalcars.com, along with all the individual car hire company sites (OTS, Times etc) all said that there was nothing available. Source: almost 2 years ago
Thanks for the advice. I just looked at rentalcars.com, and I see that park mgm has several cars from different companies. I see Budget, Avis, Dollar... All these companies have cars at the Park MGM? OR do you have to pick them up from different locations? Source: almost 2 years ago
Start with https://rentalcars.com who will check lots of companies at one go. Also they have often negotiated the best deals. Use it to locate cheap company then check company’s site to see if they themselves offer a better deal. Source: almost 2 years ago
See what you can get on https://rentalcars.com - they often negotiate the best deals from companies, with insurance included. Once you find the best, you can always check the rental company’s site to see if they offer better again. Source: almost 2 years ago
Search on https://rentalcars.com and select the best offer. Doesn't matter which company, they all provide the same service. Source: about 2 years ago
Like most of us have probably had bad experiences using flight aggregators (I have only booked directly with airlines for years), I have now had a bad experience using the car booking aggregator, rentalcars.com When they work, they work, when they don't...they are painful. It's quite a simple one really, I cancelled via chat (and was advised of the 3 day cancellation fee) whilst I was trying to collect a car I... Source: about 2 years ago
I typically refuse their insurance and go with the full protection on the rentalcars website, but that's purely an economic decision. It's worth comparing the offer on rentalcars.com and on the website of each rental car company you consider renting with. Source: about 2 years ago
Hey, so I am living in Spain and I booked a rental car for a trip to Tenerife. I booked thru rentalcars.com and opted for the insurance option thru rentalcover.com. The car company I rented from is Thrifty. I scratched up the right side of the car exiting a parking lot and am in the process of making a claim with the insurance company. However, they keep asking me for a rental agreement and a final invoice. I have... Source: about 2 years ago
Else just get estimates through rentalcars.com and see who offers the best deal. Source: about 2 years ago
I booked a car rental through rentalcars.com in Germany. I reached the venue 20 minutes before the scheduled time and to my disbelief, the car was not present (Provider Europcar.com). Source: about 2 years ago
I use Avis Thailand (avisthialand.com, not the global Avis.com site). They've always been really reasonable prices and cheaper than rentalcars.com too. They also have monthly rates. There are some others but use a local Thai company. Phuket is big so any kind of pay-per-ride for getting around the island is going to be expensive. Source: about 2 years ago
For car rental, look on rentalcars.com or carflexi.com. But make sure you take out full comprehensive insurance (either from the rental company or a separate company that does rentals insurance), because the rental company WILL find tiny scratches and bill you for hundreds of pounds. Especially as you're tourists. They all do it, but Green Motion are by far the worst, and should be avoided. Source: about 2 years ago
Have a look on rentalcars.com and see if there are any offers. Source: over 2 years ago
Rentalcars.com has always worked well for me. Source: over 2 years ago
It can also be good to have a company in between. Rental car companies are not always easy to deal with. With rentalcars.com I have a lot of good experience. Also, their customer support usually makes sure I am happy rather than the rental car company. Source: over 2 years ago
