I've hooked up countless WP forms using their SMTP plugin however the site I just installed for someone on register.com just throws a 115 error which is can't reach the SMTP server. Source: about 1 month ago
I haven't purchased a domain or found a hosting company in a while but I need to now. Since I'm just small time, I've always gone through register.com (aka web.com) and had success but I don't need much from them. I upload my pages via Core FTP LE. I wonder if it's worth looking elsewhere. I even saw I could purchase the domains through Google. I'm looking for suggestions if you don't mind. Thank you for... Source: 3 months ago
Does register.com allow IMAP access to the email accounts? If so, you can use the Migration tool in Google Workspace Admin to transfer all the emails. If you're able to export the contacts to a CSV, you'd be able to import them on Google's side. Source: 3 months ago
Thanks for your reply. Less than 5 accounts need to be migrated. Im hoping register.com supports the GW migration tool. Source: 3 months ago
Enable IMAP on the register.com mailboxes and use BitTitan? Source: 3 months ago
So I'm moving from register.com over to google workspace for email for a client. I know there are migration tools for the actual email but the setup in GWork requiries entering the domain name. To the best of my knowledge this is just so that the actual email which I choose for the account will have the correct @xxx.com address. I don't believe it will start receiving email until I move the MX record on the domain... Source: 4 months ago
Like the title says I'm trying to figure out where a client of mine bought his domain from. I searched ICANN and it shows register.com but when I'm on register.com it says there is no account associated with that domain. My client uses a 3rd party IT department that manages his domain and they have no clue where they bought it and have been "looking into it" for a week. Source: 5 months ago
I second this. Avoid register.com and web.com at all costs. Their technology is about as bad as it gets, and their customer service is even worse. They have so much junk technology and can't keep track of the simplest things. Get this- their account password reset doesn't work because the CAPTCHA key expired. They don't even have a process to triage this and something so simple has been unfixed for months, despite... Source: 7 months ago
Oh Wow, GoDaddy? It just hurts typing the name. I've been buying/reselling domains, SSL from register.com reseller program for more than 1o years. DNS mostly managed on M365 directly. For hosting 1 use bluehost. Source: 8 months ago
They have an IMAP account with register.com, and the emails work via the phone, but no new emails are received on Outlook on the Windows 10 machine. Source: 9 months ago
I tried to connect the domain with Google Sites (I verified and everything) but when I try to access the website it goes to the register.com domain ad page. This issue has been going on for almost a whole week. Thank you very much, guys! Source: 11 months ago
With domains, there are several parts. Email works by using the mx record of the domain to point to the email server (which may be the registrar, in this case, register.com, however, it can be different and likely is). Source: about 1 year ago
However, my biggest issue that I could never solve was how he was using an email alias. He was into tech, so he knew what he was doing, but I can't figure it out how to access it. The email in question is ["[email protected]](mailto:"[email protected])". On register.com. He has two domains registered (firstnamelastname.com, and firstnamelastname.online), but there is no custom DNS records, nor... Source: about 1 year ago
I think it tanked when register.com started buying everything up. Source: about 1 year ago
And report them to their registrar register.com for the same thing for violating sections of their TOS:. Source: over 1 year ago
We have a user that uses register.com email host, as of last week their email server creating 4.4.7 errors with several emails stuck in the exchange queue from the sender domain. Not sure how to get around it or fix it as checking blacklist and rdns is fine. Have a ticket with register.com opened but they seem clueless at the moment as ticket "pending" still after almost 2 days. Source: over 1 year ago
Namecheap, Cloudflare (relatively new as a registar but one of the cheapest), porkbun, godaddy, register.com and the list goes on. A bunch of them try to constantly upsell you to buy other services you don't necessarily need. You can even get domains from Google Domains but obviously not the normal choice for people de-googling or for the privacy-centric. Source: almost 2 years ago
Even better, change my registrar to domains.Google.com. I was paying $40 a year at register.com, Google will register the domain name for $12! And that includes web-forwarding and email forwarding, which is an extra cost at register.com. Source: about 2 years ago
But we're thinking that just moving registrars and relying on a new one's DNS management might not even be the right approach to begin with. Maybe it's time to separate out domain registration from DNS. Our needs are relatively simple - we need to be able to configure all the standard a-records, c-names, MX, SPF, etc. And that's about it. But, I'm seeing a lot of benefits that managed DNS providers can offer which... Source: about 2 years ago
Register.com didn't used to suck, or at least I don't remember them sucking this bad. Source: about 2 years ago
Yes, also issues here. Can we confirm that its register.com or is it cloudflare? Source: about 2 years ago
