  • Web Hosting and Domain Purchasing Advice Needed
I haven't purchased a domain or found a hosting company in a while but I need to now. Since I'm just small time, I've always gone through (aka and had success but I don't need much from them. I upload my pages via Core FTP LE. I wonder if it's worth looking elsewhere. I even saw I could purchase the domains through Google. I'm looking for suggestions if you don't mind. Thank you for... • Migrate emails from to Google workspace
Does allow IMAP access to the email accounts? If so, you can use the Migration tool in Google Workspace Admin to transfer all the emails. If you're able to export the contacts to a CSV, you'd be able to import them on Google's side. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Moving Email Hosts..can I setup my account before moving the actual MX record....
So I'm moving from over to google workspace for email for a client. I know there are migration tools for the actual email but the setup in GWork requiries entering the domain name. To the best of my knowledge this is just so that the actual email which I choose for the account will have the correct address. I don't believe it will start receiving email until I move the MX record on the domain... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Where did I get my domain from? ICANN says, says no
Like the title says I'm trying to figure out where a client of mine bought his domain from. I searched ICANN and it shows but when I'm on it says there is no account associated with that domain. My client uses a 3rd party IT department that manages his domain and they have no clue where they bought it and have been "looking into it" for a week. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Domain Registrar
I second this. Avoid and at all costs. Their technology is about as bad as it gets, and their customer service is even worse. They have so much junk technology and can't keep track of the simplest things. Get this- their account password reset doesn't work because the CAPTCHA key expired. They don't even have a process to triage this and something so simple has been unfixed for months, despite... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best Practice when using 3rd party systems
Oh Wow, GoDaddy? It just hurts typing the name. I've been buying/reselling domains, SSL from reseller program for more than 1o years. DNS mostly managed on M365 directly. For hosting 1 use bluehost. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Outlook is not receiving new emails.
They have an IMAP account with, and the emails work via the phone, but no new emails are received on Outlook on the Windows 10 machine. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Help with Register. com and Google Sites
I tried to connect the domain with Google Sites (I verified and everything) but when I try to access the website it goes to the domain ad page. This issue has been going on for almost a whole week. Thank you very much, guys! Source: about 2 years ago
  • Father Passed Away - Can't Figure out how he was handling an Email Alias
With domains, there are several parts. Email works by using the mx record of the domain to point to the email server (which may be the registrar, in this case,, however, it can be different and likely is). Source: about 2 years ago
  • Father Passed Away - Can't Figure out how he was handling an Email Alias
However, my biggest issue that I could never solve was how he was using an email alias. He was into tech, so he knew what he was doing, but I can't figure it out how to access it. The email in question is ["](mailto:"". On He has two domains registered (, and, but there is no custom DNS records, nor... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Support at Network Solutions
I think it tanked when started buying everything up. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Voter intimidation
And report them to their registrar for the same thing for violating sections of their TOS:. Source: over 2 years ago
  • email host - emails stuck in 4.4.7 Message Delayed
We have a user that uses email host, as of last week their email server creating 4.4.7 errors with several emails stuck in the exchange queue from the sender domain. Not sure how to get around it or fix it as checking blacklist and rdns is fine. Have a ticket with opened but they seem clueless at the moment as ticket "pending" still after almost 2 days. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Very interested in getting the paid ProtonMail, but have a dumb question
Namecheap, Cloudflare (relatively new as a registar but one of the cheapest), porkbun, godaddy, and the list goes on. A bunch of them try to constantly upsell you to buy other services you don't necessarily need. You can even get domains from Google Domains but obviously not the normal choice for people de-googling or for the privacy-centric. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Recommendations for host please 👴
Even better, change my registrar to I was paying $40 a year at, Google will register the domain name for $12! And that includes web-forwarding and email forwarding, which is an extra cost at Source: about 3 years ago
  • Shopping for a Managed DNS provider - Do you have experience with them?
But we're thinking that just moving registrars and relying on a new one's DNS management might not even be the right approach to begin with. Maybe it's time to separate out domain registration from DNS. Our needs are relatively simple - we need to be able to configure all the standard a-records, c-names, MX, SPF, etc. And that's about it. But, I'm seeing a lot of benefits that managed DNS providers can offer which... Source: about 3 years ago
  • Do NOT use your registrar as an NS provider. and Network Solutions are BAD at DNS. Why are so many "professional" sysadmins doing this? didn't used to suck, or at least I don't remember them sucking this bad. Source: about 3 years ago
