  • What is your favorite motion blur plugin?
I have used presets that were built in Motion from a few sources. They are… okay. They work well sometimes, but are terrible in others. I have heard good things about ReelSmart (https://revisionfx.com/products/rsmb/), but I have not pulled the trigger on it. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What would cause a clip to be labeled as 59fps but have the motion blur of 24 and not able to be slowed down?
Re your motion blur question - I haven’t used it but RSMB is supposed to be the best option out there for what you want https://revisionfx.com/products/rsmb/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Why use ND filters when you can achieve the same/better image by bumping up shutter speed?
I’m wondering if he’s considering Reel Smart Motion Blur as the “fix” for it? It’s an amazing tool in a pinch, but you’re guaranteed to run into some artifacting. It has saved me a few times on my freelance color work, but it shouldn’t be relied upon if you can just shoot properly. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Utilizing RED footage shot in a different timebase than framerate

  • Can you fix non-180 degree rule stuttering in post?
ReelSmart Motion Blur will help. https://revisionfx.com/products/rsmb/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I dowloaded a project file to learn from but i dont know where to download these effects?
Element + Optical Flares are video copilot Particularand 3D Stroke is Maxon Deep Glow and probably others are from AE scripts. RSMB is RE:VIsion Instant 4K is discontinued. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Newbie question: converting to 24/30fps to fix the look of video
You can transcode it to a lower frame rate. It may still look too smooth, so perhaps employ a motion-blur effect in post like Re:Vision Reel Smart Motion Blur. I don’t have any experience in doing this but that’s where I’d start. Source: over 2 years ago
  • I recorded my green screen at 60fps (project at 23.976) to prevent tearing between frames. If I speed up the footage to real-time in Premiere, when I take it to After effects to composite, did I lose those frames? What's the workflow?
If you shutter up a lot and want to get some motion blur back RSMB is an option. If it's fast action the faster the shutter the cleaner the key and the more need for motion blur restoration. RSMB is a pretty heavy effect, and the difference is nuanced. I used to consider it essential, but today people consume tons of Instagram Stories and TikToks without a moments pause for the motion blur cadence. So maybe it's... Source: almost 3 years ago
