Reduced Eye Strain
By adjusting the screen color temperature based on the time of day, Redshift helps reduce eye strain, especially during the evening and night hours. Warmer colors are easier on the eyes compared to blue light.
Improved Sleep Quality
Exposure to blue light before bedtime can interfere with sleep patterns by suppressing melatonin production. Redshift helps mitigate this by shifting to warmer color temperatures, potentially leading to better sleep.
Customizable Settings
Redshift allows users to customize the color temperature settings according to their preferences and needs, providing flexibility and personalization.
Cross-Platform Compatibility
Redshift is available for various operating systems, including Linux, Windows, and macOS, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
Open Source
Being an open-source project, Redshift allows users and developers to inspect, modify, and enhance the software, ensuring transparency and community-driven improvements.

I used to use f.lux on Android until I found "Twilight" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.lux I also used to use f.lux on Linux until I found "Redshift" http://jonls.dk/redshift/. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
You can use redshift[1] on linux, and there are a lot of cli tools that can be used to easily script color changes in hue lights and others via cron. It's not as integrated as f.lux, but reasonably easy to get working. There's also redshift-gtk to contorl redshift from the systray. There's also Redshift that was inspired by f.lux which may work better for some (and has a nice gtk tray client): http://jonls.dk/redshift/. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago

Theres a million things I do for sleep: - Intermittent fasting (early time restricted eating and fasting till morning after an early dinner) - outside activity (exercise + sunlight) - taking MCT oil - blocking out blue light a few hours before bed using blue light filters or apps like redshift or f.lux - getting hydrated during the day so that night time dehydration doesn't wake up up - curtain over my bedroom...
