  • INFJ wanting to gift an INTP for his birthday
INTPs are often very good at tinkering and programming so anything from http://raspberrypi.org will be a winner! They’ve got every budget covered from tiny computers for $5 all the way up to the accessories which can be bought on the websites linked on there that’ll turn your pi into a robot or sensor kit or anything really. • Raspberry Pi CEO Eben Upton says that he expects the inventory situation to improve over time and to be completely resolved within 12 months.
It seems disgusting when you open raspberrypi.org and be presented with slogans like "teach, learn, make" and pictures of kids learning and playing around with the boards when it was obvious what the priority was for the company (spoiler: not those kids in the pictures). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Hey all. Can anyone point me in the direction of a project where I can create a bird box with a camera in, would need IR and I’d like to be able to access it remotely, would also need to be battery powered?! I have seen a few projects floating around online, just wanted to be able to chat about one
One of the learning projects on raspberrypi.org covers this at a high level. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Implementing BirdNET-Analyzer on a Raspberry Pi
I'm planning on implementing the BirdNET-Analyzer on a Raspberry Pi. I want to record bird song in my backyard in 5 minute clips and then analyze what birds were singing after dark. I can track which birds and when they are around, and perhaps even publish the data somehow. Source: about 2 years ago

  • Pi-enabled rover. At the Maker Fair Eindhoven 25 and 26 September I will demonstrate this prototype. The design is inspired by ESA's ExoMars rover. At the Fair I will also be running a VR application in which visitors can operate the rover in Virtual Reality ("headset on").
Just a couple of questions: • which Raspberry Pi version did you use? • how difficult was it to learn ROS (assuming you used it), and did you learn the requisite mathematics along the way? Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Thin Display for Raspberry pi Zero
I am working on a simple project for live video streaming using Raspberry pi. I would be using this as a prototype for my final project. I need this prototype to be as slim as possible (basically a working good-looking display). I was searching for options to connect a 5" display (with a touchscreen). Initially, I had planned to use the display sold by raspberrypi.org. After some research, I found that any kind of... Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Controller not registering
Also, raspberrypi.org does not list any gamepads at all. Are you thinking of thepihut.com or pimoroni.com ? Hopefully you didn't get swindled. I personally recommend iNNext or Kiwitata from Amazon as they're cheap and decent. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • I think my laptop (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS) does not use hardware video decoding or hardware acceleration in general. Any help?
Personally, I have a similar laptop with a celeron n3060/4GB. The best distro I could find is called raspbian for Pc and Mac (from raspberrypi.org) and it runs great with hardware video decode in chrome and VLC. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Error while installing
I try to install pivpn, but ending up with following error. I can ping raspberrypi.org. Do I miss something that need to be installed first? Installation is a fresh Raspberry Pi OS lite on an Pi Model 4 2GB. Source: about 3 years ago

  • Nas Home Multimedia
I streamed 1080p lossless Blu-ray rips on a J series for years (212J, then 416J). The issue is you won't be able to convert any files on the fly with the J series NAS, which is fine if you know what you're doing, and have a device on your TV that can do the conversion for you. I did it with a Raspberry Pi running OSMC and once you purchase the video codec licenses from raspberrypi.org, and point your Pi to the... Source: about 3 years ago
  • Can't change resolution
I've had this problem for the longest time and so far have found no solution. I thought the 4.7 update would have fixed it but nope. Only use images from raspberrypi.org.uk. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Powering a raspberry pi 4 on a powerbank?
Depends on what you are doing...USB loading, etc. Many power banks are poorly regulated...voltage drops off as load increases so long as they can charge a phone battery (4.2 volts down to ~3.3) so they tend to drop below the RPi's narrow limit. Most of the time, the 4 will work with 2A but only if the volts are in range. The RPi won't blow up with an undervoltage...just won't work...may not even boot. See the... Source: about 3 years ago
