No. Just click manual install. You'll have a little blue icon on your desktop. Create your profile. Install your mods and then at the top left click on Start Modded. Et voila. I suggest creating a new character and world or else you risk corrupting the file for your current world/character. Also any explored map will not update with whatever mods you use. Like if you add in mods like Valharvest that have new... Source: 12 months ago

You are in for a treat, there are already lots of great mods! There seem to be other mod managers, but I use r2modman and it is very easy to set up and use: https://thunderstore.io/package/ebkr/r2modman/ You browse and install mods through it and click "Start modded" from there. If you're not using a modmanager already you could consider using R2Modman. This would allow you to easily make multiple mod profiles and share them with friends using a hash code. It's also a great way to create backups of your existing configs. Source: about 1 year ago
Get this and use it to download whatever mods you want, there are so many but I believe you can sort by popularity to find the best ones. I recommend chef mod and starstorm 2.0 to start. Source: about 1 year ago
This is my mod and I appreciate the link. I have a full featured version too called No Smoke Stay Lit. Both on Nexus and the Thunderstore. I recommend the Thunderstore r2ModManager as it makes adding mods super easy to Valheim. I make these for the community and ask nothing back but to let me know of bugs or problems. Thanks again. Thunderstore and Nexus are the two main mod websites. Manual installation is pretty easy, just need to install BepInEx and then you just drop in mod files into a specific folder. But using a mod manager is easiest. I recommend r2modman as a mod manager. It's very much like the Thunderstore mod manager but without the bloat from Overwolf. Source: over 1 year ago
You're gonna need to install the ror 2 modmanager. Here a quick tutorial on how to install mods. It's very easy. Source: over 1 year ago
Mods are not terribly difficult to setup, but I highly recommend a mod manager app like r2modman to make it much easier to find, install, enable, disable, and upgrade mods. You can even have separate profiles, using one set of mods for adventuring and a different set of mods for building, etc. Source: over 1 year ago
R2modman is a really good mod manager, not just for risk of rain 2, for MANY more games too. Source: over 1 year ago
I use an awesome mod manager called R2modman. Once you install it, you choose which game you want to mod (boneworks, obviously) and then you add the directory in the settings and then you just click which mod you want to choose.
