We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Polygonjs and what they use it for.
  • Show HN: Checkers Twist – The game Checkers/Draughts/Dames on an irregular grid
    - some corners will connect less than 4 tiles. This does the opposite of the previous point, as this removes diagonals. This limits your moves in a specific direction, but can also protect you from your opponents. It's the kind of features that can be used both as a defense and as attack. And the boards are procedurally generated, so you can play unique games each time (or you can re-use the same boards if you... - Source: Hacker News / 2 days ago
  • On the importance to make games during the game engine's development
That's the path I took with Polygonjs ( https://polygonjs.com ), and a game I've just released ( https://polyreplay.com/minesweepertwist ), with more coming shortly. But it didn't start like that. It only started as a tool I could use to deliver client projects, as I was trying to become a freelance for interactive 3D scenes for the web. Project after project ( some examples here: https://polygon-lab.com/ ), I... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • Threestudio – A unified framework for 3D content generation
    I'm building one, called Polygonjs ( https://polygonjs.com/ ), you have a few examples to play with ( https://polygonjs.com/docs/examples ). - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • how can I convert a 3D model into an SDF, a signed distance field
You can have a look how I do it in Polygonjs (which is a node-based design tool based on threejs), in this example scene. Source: 5 months ago
  • ThreeJS capabilities
If you're familiar with Houdini, I invite you to try Polygonjs, which is based on threejs and inspired by Houdini. You can basically build threejs in a procedural way, with just nodes. Source: 5 months ago
  • I’m starting to get into generative media and visual making and I want to know what software to use other than touchdesigner.
You could try Polygonjs. It's inspired by Houdini, so has a lot in common with TouchDesigner (it's fully node-based, you can create audio reactive apps), and it works on the web, which makes scenes very easy to share. Source: 10 months ago
  • Help me out ya’ll. Spline 3D vs Dora 3D?
Can I invite you to try Polygonjs as well? Source: 11 months ago
  • Sdf – Generate 3D meshes based on SDFs
You can generate an SDF from a mesh with [Polygonjs](https://polygonjs.com). Here is an [example scene](https://polygonjs.com/examples/bynode:mat:raymarchingbuilder:sdffromobject). It won't generate a function, though. Instead it creates a 3D texture which is used inside the raymarching material. In my experience this is much more performant, and also art-directable. (disclaimer, I'm building Polygonjs). - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • Need help for job
It sounds like you need a dynamic system that runs in the browser. Maybe try Polygonjs ( https://polygonjs.com )? The the 3rd interactive scene on the front page gives an idea of a dynamic model. I run it, if that of interest, happy to give more examples. Source: 11 months ago
  • Vegetation modelling tool
If you ever wanted to do a vegetation modelling tool for the web, I invite you to try it on Polygonjs, it has a lot of similarities with Houdini (node-based, procedural modeling, HDA system, etc) and is all web/realtime. And open source. Source: 11 months ago
  • Image Synthesis Libs in JS (ideally canvas)
I'm running Polygonjs, a node-based WebGL design & animation tool. It has many procedural geometry nodes, material nodes, behavior nodes, but very few texture generation nodes. I'd love to see someone contribute and add such nodes. Source: 11 months ago
  • How can I recreate this image effect in React? Is there a library available or how would one tackle this ? I'm new to react, thanks!
As others have said, it's indeed made in WebGL. If you'd rather a no or low code tool to achieve that, you could try Polygonjs, which helps you create WebGL scenes with a visual editor. Here is an example scene that is similar to the one in your reference website. Source: 12 months ago
  • Spline embeds slowing down site loading times.
If I may suggest an alternative, animations created with Polygonjs are designed to load very fast. Source: 12 months ago
  • Is there a similar tool to this one?
Maybe Polygonjs could help you? You can export (and import) a lot of file formats from it. (full disclaimer, I'm the maker). Source: 12 months ago
  • Is something like this 3d space possible in figma?
Hi, I'm working on a figma plugin for Polygonjs, another 3D editor. I'd be curious to what missing parts you find in vectary plugin, if you're okay to share? That could help me plan how I'll approach mine. Source: 12 months ago
  • Is there some way to implement a web-based customizer?
For Polygonjs (a webgl design and animation tool), I've integrated Opencascade. See this example scene and demo video tutorial. Source: 12 months ago
  • Website with Godot?
As far as I know, godot does not export for html or webgl. But if you are looking for a visual editor, maybe Polygonjs can be of interest? (disclaimer, I'm the maker). Source: 12 months ago
  • 3D Designs/CAD Elements in Webflow. Brainstorming ideas/help
You may be interested in Polygonjs, it's a node-based WebGL editor. It can help load and create CAD models and exports to Webflow. Source: about 1 year ago
  • AI analysis for Houdini scene files
How have you trained it, if you don't mind sharing? I'm currently evaluating different methods to build something similar for another node-based 3D tool ( https://polygonjs.com/ for context ). Source: about 1 year ago
  • What program can i use to create a 3D logo loop like this?
Here is an example scene that could give you a starting point, using Polygonjs (disclaimer: I'm the maker). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Anyone working on natural language interface to 3D CAD?
I'm working on a procedural design & animation tool for WebGL ( https://polygonjs.com ), and I've recently added some early CAD modeling capabilities ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AoL2xRLiOs&t=1s ). One of my next steps is now to add natural language to setup those nodes. So it won't be just for CAD, but more general 3D (material creation,... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
