  Pokemmo is technically a Pokemon Black mod, and is basically a full fledged MMO for the gen 1-4 games, assuming you have all the roms for fire red, soul silver, emerald, platinum, and black. Source: over 2 years ago

  If you want a Pokemon mmo, you can try pokemmo. You need fire red, emerald, platinum, hg/ss, b/w roms. You can interact with other players, choose which region to start your journey in, travel in all 5 regions, but the story is still the same, but it adds a lot to the game.   I see that the main game client entry point for PokeMMO is loginserver.pokemmo.eu, which as of today resolves to an IP hosted by OVH Montreal (Canada). Still, PokeMMO has been running and is actively developed since early 2012. Source: almost 3 years ago

  Pixelmon also exists tho it's not a full game, but it is a good example considering it did half get shut down by Nintendo and then restarted. There is also PokeMMO when it comes to full games tho, along with a few others. Source: almost 3 years ago

  No. Pokemmo is an mmorpg (obviously) except it’s more polished. Pokemmo has gen 5 battle sprites/animations and your Pokémon follow you everywhere, like in HGSS. It’s the only mmo Pokémon game I was able to find without the static sprites. It’s really fun and has every region and Pokémon up to Gen 5. Gen 2 Pokémon are in the game but Johto is not yet implemented, instead they’ve added the Sevii Islands as a sort... Source: about 3 years ago
