For example pixelfed.social/nodeinfo/2.0 gives a "Sorry, this page isn't available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Pixelfed.". - Source: Reddit / 14 days ago
OK... The "learn more" link leads to https://pixelfed.org/. And the "Create account" button leads to a page with instructions to pick a server, not anything about creating an account on https://pixelfed.social/. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Their instructions say to go to https://pixelfed.social, then "Click on the register link at the top of the page", but I don't see a register link. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
I've also have a pixelfed.social account for the hell of it. Obviously it's ran by the pixelfed creator/developer, so it'll all be configured properly. With it I've been able to search & view accounts on pretty much all the other pixelfed instances all over the place. The global timeline is filled with accounts from outside pixelfed.social. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
You can always type "pixelfed.social" into your instances search bar. Follow a couple folks or favorite a couple posts and that instance is now "known" by yours and you'll start seeing posts from "pixelfed.social" in your federated timeline. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
Indeed - once you follow the Mastadon account, pixelfed.social becomes aware of that profile so new content will be sent over but not historical content. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
I signed up via https://pixelfed.social/ recently, posted a few photos and went to go take a look this morning to find my account... I dunno, just gone? - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
Https://pixelfed.social/ is the main Fedi server that I'm aware of. And it's growing too. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
I started using PixelFed today and joined pixelfed.social. Almost every post seems to not be displaying properly. They're all blurred in the list view, and it says "No Preview Available". I read a post from a few days ago that said the server might be struggling with an influx of users. Is this still happening for other people or is it just me? Should I join a different instance? - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
While everyone is talking about Mastodon because of Twitter, I want people to know that there is https://pixelfed.social which is alternative to Instagram. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
So not an app, but a service. there's Pixelfed https://pixelfed.social/. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
Instagram: https://pixelfed.social - it's relatively new but a great alternative already, that said, phone apps are either non-existent or still in the making. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
I may be missing something, but I can't find how to access to https://pixelfed.social/ without login in.... And I don't even see how to sign up. - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
The mobile apps are almost done being developed! I'd recommend getting started with an account at pixelfed.social. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago
I admit that I tried it but I'm a bit lost on it.. pixelfed.social, pixelfed.photos ... Why cant there be only 1 thing? ;) so personally I find it confusing to use :/. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago
Try https://pixelfed.social/ - it's the decentralized grassroots alternative to Instagram, that is about the photos. Plus it networks with the Fediverse, which is a network of grassroots alternatives to various types of corporate social media. So you can follow / be followed by anyone on there even if they are not using Pixelfed. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago
The instance most people use is the default pixelfed.social. - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
The alternative to Instagram is Pixelfed. The alternative to Twitter is Mastodon, and so on. And guess what? People can communicate with each other regardless of which platform or server within that platform they're on. That's how nice the fediverse is. You'll feel and question why everyone isn't using it instead, but unfortunately the main downside is not many users since it lacks mainstream popularity because... - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
Https://pixelfed.social is the Instagram of the fediverse, no loginwalls. - Source: Reddit / 11 months ago
The tools exist. There's for example Pixelfed, they aim to specifically be an instagram replacement, without the algo shenanigans. And it's free to use, open source, so brands could take it and start posting. Or photographers, you can pay people 10$ a month or so and have your own platform. - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago
