I can't think of any way. There is a Facebook plugin for Pidgin, and you can get at your chats that way with a more versatile cross-platform messenger, if you are more normally on other chat services. https://pidgin.im/ https://github.com/dequis/purple-facebook/wiki If you want web-based clients, try a multi-app client such as Ferdium, RamBox or Station. - Source: Hacker News / 13 days ago
As I mentioned earlier, this scenario happens to me all the time. This is precisely why I refuse to discuss why we don't use Git or GitHub for Pidgin. - Source: dev.to / 2 months ago
I did a find before posting my comment and found yours. >Cool I like Wordpress. But they bought a fancy Pidgin clone for 50mil...? https://pidgin.im/. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
XMPP XMPP stands for Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol and is used for communications for message-oriented middleware based on the Extensible Markup Language (XML). Many more people are starting to use this as a main way of communication using programs such as Pidgin to accomplish this. Pidgin is an open-source multi-platform IM client which most people will recommend for XMPP. The main reason is... Source: about 1 year ago
Pidgin is still a powerful messenger client for desktop once you get all the plugins needed for your particular use. Source: about 1 year ago
I note that if you are using one of the alternative clients (like Pidgin with purple-discord), they can store local logs that you can then index and search. There is also Harmony for managing your account without touching the Discord website. Note that using unofficial Discord clients can get you banned. https://pidgin.im/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago

It's not my software, but I could try to troubleshoot with you. If you're on Windows, you have to select server yax.im. If you can't get Gajim to work, I used to use Pidgin for my XMPP communication protocol needs. Source: almost 3 years ago
We used Pidgin for all of our chat needs. Your IT dept should be able to set this up for you. It’s a matter of pointing it to your server with your login creds. We set this up for the call center I worked at. We had the agents use it, instead of yahoo messenger. Much more secure and effective. Source: about 3 years ago
I almost wish they had just integrated an updated version of pidgin with multiple E2EE chat clients integrated. That way everyone could communicate on one app platform with everyone. Source: about 3 years ago
