  • Show HN: A platform for remote piano lessons based on the Web MIDI API
That already exists, and is a relatively robust market, with multiple providers. I used https://pianomarvel.com/ for a while during COVID with some success. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Sheet music and sight reading resources, pretty please?
I found pianomarvel.com to be excellent for this. They have a sight-reading test which you can literally take every single day. It uses hundreds if not thousands of pieces of music so there you almost never play the same piece twice. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Do you know how to play Piano/Keyboard?
Just go make a free account on https://pianomarvel.com/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Start learning piano on new year, this is one wish in my bucket list for a long time. I have absolutely zero basic on music and piano
If you want to learn with an app, try Piano Marvel - https://pianomarvel.com Im learning for two weeks now, and it guides you really well. There are trainings like Alfreds Book integrated etc. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What's a good app for learning that also has songs that play along with sheet music?
I started learning with Piano Marvel some weeks ago. And as a complete Noob I feel like it teaches me pretty well. There are tons of trainings, sight reading, techniques etc. Source: over 1 year ago
  • 1h daily piano routine recommendations
I was actually just thinking about that yesterday, and I read on an article a recommendation for pianomarvel.com. I'll give it a go during the free 30 days trial and see if it's worth subscribing to. Their sightreading app seems quite interesting. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is there a software that lets you play along sheet music ?
Marvel Piano has that kind of features, except it cannot import MIDI IIRC. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I'm a piano teacher's nightmare - any tips?
With my annual Simply Piano subscription set to expire, I'm giving Playground Sessions a try. Their new app is a lot better than the last time I tried it (a couple years ago). It seems to have incorporated some elements of Piano Marvel which make it great for learning sight reading with accurate time. I didn't care for Piano Marvel's user interface (which feels a bit dated) and the music they use for learning... Source: over 1 year ago
  • App for getting back into it
I would recommend Piano Marvel. Many people say this is the closest you can get as to having a piano teacher. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Getting better at learning new pieces
Piano marvel is supposed to be really good for improving sight reading. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Need advise for my child who is stopping her piano lessons...
Let her try for free (1 month)on https://pianomarvel.com/ Its fun for young people ;). Source: over 2 years ago
  • How hard is Chopin nocturne op. 9 no. 2?
It is a difficult piece, but as you know it is well worth the time investment as this song is universally loved and fun to play. This song is included in the pianomarvel.com library. I would recommend getting a trial with them as it is a great tool to pick up hard songs much faster than if you were teaching yourself or through YouTube tutorials. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Years ago, I learned piano on the computer with a game-like software. Is there anything like that nowadays?
Roughly 25 years ago, I had a computer program that connected to my (piano) keyboard with a wire. It wasn't just a follow-along program (like https://pianomarvel.com/ and https://www.synthesiagame.com/ seem to be). It had a bunch of "games" on it. Like, one I vaguely remember was a bunch of ducks flying across the screen, and they had a note written on them. I had to press the note to shoot them. Source: over 2 years ago
  • how and where do i start learning how to read notes?
Https://pianomarvel.com/ very good to learn, you can try it free for 1 month. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Piano teaching app that is not just popular songs?
Have a look at https://pianomarvel.com/ I think it has everything you are looking for. A library with more than 20 000 pieces, many classical, a technique and method series of lessons, ear training, 2 books in PDF form, method and technique etc ... You can try it out for free for 1 month....And do not forget, an enthusiastic team that is available 24/24 for users. Source: almost 3 years ago
