  • PhotoPrism: Browse Your Life in Pictures
I looked at a bunch of these 2 years ago and ended up using PhotoView for a private gallery. It had the right mix of simplicity and features, and I was actually able to get it running. https://github.com/photoview/photoview. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Image delivery for weddings
I can suggest 3 options. * Photoview - It is like a gallery with recursive folder structure (folders inside folders) support. You can create shareable links for the folders, with password protection. The UI is great. And your clients will be able to download the complete folder, also individual images at either full resolution or reduced. The issue is you cannot use the UI to add or delete photos, but it can be a... Source: 12 months ago
  • Photos: nextcloud? Immich?
I have tried A LOT of solutions and I finally stopped after using Nextcloud and Photoview. I synchronise files from my computer to Nextcloud using rclone and view them on Photoview whenever I need. You can sync to you nextcloud using their official app on phone. I use Photoview because I have not found a single self-hosted solution that keeps the folder structure and lets me view them as both, in folder structures... Source: 12 months ago
  • Amazon Photos just ate 240,364 of my photos
Self-host and use Photoview [1], it has face recognition. I use this since 2 years with 5TB of photos (on ZFS) and it works flawlessly. It is worth it - everything under your control and you decide when to migrate. [1]:https://github.com/photoview/photoview. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • Is there anything better than Photoprism
PhotoView is the only one of these I've found a) functional/usable and b) tolerable. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Synology Photos desperately needs a feature to manually add people to a picture...

  • Selfhosted Photo App with Map view - Photoprism alternative?
Photoview may fit your needs, minus the no registration bit. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Photoprism vs ???
Photoview looks nice as well. But I don't know whether any platforms supports bulk edits. Did you open issues on the respective repos? It's probably the easiest way of getting a feature? Source: over 1 year ago
  • Lychee – Self-hosted photo-management done right
I considered Lychee but went for Photoview [1] for internal exploration of my photos [1], which follows the 4-facets principle (who, what, when, where). There's a map (where), an album view (what), face recognition (who), and a timeline (when). All of these make it pretty convenient for different purposes. It is also folder-based and I set it up in read-only mode, so Photoview doesn't modify my files or... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • photoview like with manage and delete options
For a while I'm using photo view https://github.com/photoview/photoview and I'm quite satisfied with this gallery, but sometimes I want delete or move an Album, and I need to use (https://github.com/filebrowser/filebrowser) for move or change file names or Album names or Albums directory. • A self-hosted photo service like Apple’s Photos app
Photoview is written in Go (like photoprism) and therefore uses few resources. But the UI appears better to me and it has an official iOS app. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Photos sync in mixed device ecosystem
The Nextcloud photo folder for each user is bind-mounted (read-only) to a VM running Photoview, which scans folders every 2 hours and updates photo feeds, maps, albums, and face-recognition. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Reliable, iOS capable shared photo organization solution?
I've been using Photoview and it works great with iOS/iPadOS. Supports HEIC just fine. Source: over 1 year ago
  • LibrePhotos, a self-hosted open source photo management service, now with a more modern look
May I ask what resources LibrePhotos are using in regards of memory and CPU? I see that it's written in Python and I'm setting up a new server and modern projects like Photoview are written in Go and will probably use far less resources. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I'm defz going to replace Google Photos with Immich!
Maybe Photoview could be interesting for you. It is based around the idea that you define the folder structure. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I plan to do this every month. What is your favorite new self-hosting tool/software you have learned about this month?
And my favorite discovery for the iCloud-like folder-based photo gallery was Photoview. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Google Photos Alternative?
Punting Photoview as an alternative. I’ve used both Photoprism and Photoview and I find Photoview handles HEIC way better so I’ve settled on it. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Is there any alternatives to Synology Photos for mobile?
I haven't tried any of these, but PhotoStructure, Photoview, and LibrePhotos are all on my list to evaluate. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Help needed: Unable to access 'Photoview' using Cloudflare Argo Tunnel
I've successfully got Photoview working internally on my network, and I've got home assistant, frigate and a few other services working through a Cloudflare Argo Tunnel. For the life of me though, I can't get Photoview to work through Cloudflared (get a 502 error in Chrome, and this error in the Photoview docker logs:. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What are some services you *refuse* to selfhost?
I have just started to look at this one - https://github.com/photoview/photoview. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Anyone else abandon Nextcloud (Thinking of going to FileRun)
Try photoview for less resource intensive photos hosting with face recognition. Doesn't have as many features as photoprism but I've found it to my liking. Although I feel performance has regressed a bit after the redesign Https://github.com/photoview/photoview/. Source: over 2 years ago
