  • Why do the boss’ music sound so spacey when slowed down?
You can use https://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/ to do this to any song. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Weird little question for those who are into weird little questions: What's the best way to make a pop song last 30 minutes?
Paul’s Extreme Sound Stretch is a program commonly used for this. http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • The slowest and longest music piece ever, is being performed for 639 years

  • The slowest and longest music piece ever, is being performed for 639 years
Nearly anything sounds beautiful when it’s spectrally smoothed and lengthened 8x by Paulstretch, including the most irritating pop song you can name off the top of your head. http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • What would be a way to achieve this bass sound?
The bass at the start is a pretty clean sine/triangle waveform. The weird sighing sounds were made with something like Paulstretch - it's what snare drums sound like at 1/8th of the speed. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Writing/Music Theory for ambient?
Comedy option: slow down classical music with 800% using Paulstretch and see how well it holds up - is it still listenable and entertaining/engaging? Source: about 2 years ago
  • How can I make music like this? I'm a complete beginner and I'd really like to try making this sort of sound.
I agree with u/drain166 - and with Supermassive, consider adding Shimmer (though this effect is also in the Big Sky). The vocal-like sound at 5:52 sounds a bit like singing - http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/ can help with sustaining the notes. Just sing at a normal tempo and stretch to 800% or so. • “Oogway Ascends Slowed to Perfection”
I'm guessing they used Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch, which is very popular for these videos. Too bad no credit was given to Paul for this. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How to get slow-motion audio sounding better?
I don't know which video editor you use, but if you mean a built-in function, then it could be the latter. It might help to use an external audio editor like Audacity or a DAW with plugins. I've heard good things about "paulstretch" a.k.a. Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch too. Source: over 2 years ago
