  • Adding RAM to a PC
No, RAM is minimal power consumption and won't affect the PSU. By all means, use this tool to see if you're close to the limit: https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator. Source: 7 months ago
  • Am I making the right choices?
Check how much PSU you need with this nifty calculator: you probably don't need much more than 600W, so don't get a stupidly expensive one. Source: 7 months ago
  • What UPS is compatible with my Corsair RM650 (non-x)
As for what size ups you may need, check out a psu calculator like OuterVision - I like that calculator because it seems pretty accurate and doesn't try to sell you a bigger ups than you actually need (though the larger the ups, usually the longer the runtime). Source: 8 months ago
  • PSU to choose?
I already bought all those parts, but I don't find a suitable PSU for the build, I introduced all this info on this website: https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator, and it recommended the: Thermaltake Smart 500W 80+ White Certified, looking for reviews and PSU tierlist, is ranked as F so, I forgot about it, I was looking for other alternatives and found ARESGAME AGV Series 500W Power Supply, 80 Plus... • Question about conflicting power supply requirements for 7900XTX
I just picked up a used 7900XTX to upgrade from my current 6800xt. My PSU is the Corsair "RMX White Series RM750x (2018) 750w power supply." I checked an online calculator, this one: https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator , and it said I'm fine still, it actually says only 649w, but XFX's website says the minimum required for the XFX MERC 310 7900XTX is an 850w power supply. I just want to see what y'all... Source: 9 months ago
  • Amd ryzen 9 5900 pc shut down random times and then turns on a second later, updated bios but didn't fix, what to do?
Just a guess: I think, your PSU wattage is cutting it close to power your rig (atm, esp. When it's several years old; degradation). Check out this PSU Calculator for your comparison should you choose to test your rig with a higher wattage PSU (efficient, true rated). Source: 9 months ago
  • If I upgrade how much does it consume?
To know how much wattage your psu needs to be to power your system you need to use a psu calculator. These work great and will help you decide. Source: 10 months ago
  • So I am upgrading my pc and need a little help so I’m going to upgrade my 1660 super to a 3060 and worried about my power supply
Actually you don't really need a new psu for now assuming you don't overclock anything in your system according to psu calculators like this one: https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator. Careful because I think some gpus come overclocked. To be safe you can undervolt your cpu and gpu for less power consumption but about the same performance. Source: 10 months ago
  • Would a Galax GeForce RTX 3060 Ti SG 1-Click OC 8GB run on 550w
Put your entire PC into this and find out! :). Source: 10 months ago

  • PC doesn't boot after installing new GPU
I was worried I misestimated the wattage, but PCPartPicker tells me my build is 541W. https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator says it's 595W. My PSU is 750W. Admittedly, I've been using this PSU since 2016, so it might be a bit less now? Source: 10 months ago
  • Console gamer here; want to shift to PC - Need your PRO advice.
Other components: 16GB RAM for lower budgets, 32GB RAM for higher budgets - you can upgrade at any time super easily. You'll need at least 1TB of SSD storage. Case doesn't particularly matter - get one you like that fits your motherboard. Once you've picked all your parts, use this website to find what PSU you need. Get something a *little* bit more powerful than what it recommends. Source: 10 months ago
  • Need help in building a ~$1,000 PC
Once that's all finished, find a power supply calculator and enter in all your parts. It will spit out a number - I'd suggest buying a power supply that's a *little* bit more powerful than that. For what I suggest, 650W is enough. Source: 10 months ago
