My video editor of choice is Kdenlive. It's modeled after Adobe Premiere (more or less), and has a bit of a learning curve. Olive is another promising option, but similarly tricky to master. Openshot is a pretty easy editor that works similarly. All of them are free and open source. Davinci Resolve is a professional-grade editor, and free, but not open source. Source: over 1 year ago
Look at the help tab, click on the about. Here you'll find the version your running, the build #, and the build date. You can then go to the openshot.org website and compare. Source: over 1 year ago
No worries u/NredTremble06. Easy mistake to make. I am glad things are working for you. Please keep an eye on the openshot.org home page as a new "production release" of the DEV version you are running now will be published (2-4 weeks time). Source: over 1 year ago
When you say the newest version I take it you mean version 2.6.1-Release-Candidate (help | about Openshot). If this is the case, please download the latest DEV Daily Build and give that a try. Go to openshot.org, click on Daily Builds, download the latest daily build available and give it a try. Source: over 1 year ago
Download the latest DEV Daily Build. Go to openshot.org, click on DOWNLOAD, from the middle of the page click on "Daily Builds". Download the latest available. Source: almost 2 years ago
OpenShot won't ask for your credit card. Did you download it from somewhere other than openshot.org? If so, you may have given your credit card info to scammers and should contact your bank/credit card provider to inquire about unauthorized charges. You may need to cancel and replace those cards. Don't wait to do this, secure the cards now. Source: almost 2 years ago
If this is truly related to OpenShot and you've been asked for credit card then you have downloaded a version from a non-authorized site. Uninstall this version and go to openshot.org and click on Download. Source: almost 2 years ago
OpenShot is a free and open source video editor that is available for all major operating systems, including Linux. It has a simple interface that provides all basic features you'll need for basic video editing operations: slicing and mixing videos, changing video speed and audio volume, operating multiple tracks of video and audio, generating titles, exporting projects to several formats, among other things. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
I gave Hitfilm a try awhile back and it was crap. Skip it. Devinci Resolve is free and so is OpenShot. http://openshot.org. Source: about 2 years ago
Most people don't even need to pay for a video editor. I've been using Kdenlive instead of Premiere for years, and Openshot should be pretty familiar to folks who remember the old Movie Maker. Both are free and open source. Source: about 2 years ago
Kdenlive and Openshot are both free. Kdenlive is fully featured, but can be a little complicated. Openshot is pretty simple, especially if you're only looking to put together basic videos. Source: about 2 years ago
When you get to step 5 go to openshot.org, click on DOWNLOAD, click on "Daily Builds" and download build #8946. Source: over 2 years ago
If you don't mind waiting for the video to re-encode, and choose your video settings carefully to avoid loss of visual quality, any video editor will get the job done. I generally recommend kdenlive, but Openshot might be easier to get used to for simple tasks. Source: over 2 years ago
Take a look into OpenShot it's free and powerful. Source: over 2 years ago
Import the video clip & the exported track to any free video editing software (something like OpenShot works well and it's free). Source: almost 3 years ago
We have added 3 new languages to the openshot.org website: Russian, Croatian, and Korean. A big thanks to all the translators who contributed to this effort! This makes our web content and messaging more accessible to more people around the world, and I couldn't be happier! Source: almost 3 years ago
Nope, it's an option in the installer downloaded from openshot.org. In my opinion, even if it's used Google Analytics, there is no need for this massive firewall hole. All it's doing is connecting to the internet - not even web browsers ask for a firewall exception, let alone a video editor. Source: almost 3 years ago
