OGS is the closest thing I’ve found to lichess but it’s quite good! - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • After AI beat them, professional Go players got better and more creative
Https:// is the easiest place to get started as a western beginner. The far more active go servers are Asian and have a higher barrier to entry in terms of registration, downloading the client, and dealing with poor localization. (Fox Weiqi, Tygem, etc.). - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Awfull experience with learning Go
That's nuts. I'll be honest is my least favorite server to play on. Unfortunately it's one of the only ones that doesn't require software installation so it's easy to recommend to new players. Source: 7 months ago
  • In Two Moves, AlphaGo and Lee Sedol Redefined the Future (2016)
In 2016, I thought I'd give up on playing Go, seeing that our tree searching overlords beat us in every which way. Funny thing is, I'm playing a game right now [1]. [1] - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago

  • I’m completely new to this-like 3 hours new. What do I do?
Https:// should have a detailed introduction to the game and have links to , , (though that link there currently doesn’t work perhaps because of the extra www. In the link) etc as others suggested. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I’m completely new to this-like 3 hours new. What do I do?
Play this bot on a 5x5 board until you can consistently win. Then move to 7x7 and play until you can constantly win. Then go to and start playing 9x9 against people. Source: about 1 year ago
  • First win against an AI
Also, I'd suggest trying to switch to human players pretty soon ( is the place to be for that), AIs and weak AIs will play with a lot of strange and bad moves, and playing against too many of them might give you bad habits. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What's the best way to learn go?

  • Is there an equivalent of for Go?
Https:// is probably currently the closest web application you’re looking for, though I don’t think it has its own computer or mobile applications. There are some mobile apps like surround and sente that integrate with the web application, but as I hinted at, they are not by the same people or branded in a consolidated way. • What would be a great template feature for Go note taking?
My suggestion may not be applicable since it’s not a physical notebook, but you guys could check out the Tools->Demo Board feature at . I don’t think I have used it but would suppose it allows you to save board positions and variations with a free account. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I’d really appreciate any feedback for my game against Cosumi, I’m super new and am looking to improve!
That's too bad. I would recommend playing on OGS and then asking for a review - the coordinates will make it easier for people to refer to moves, and you can turn off the AI suggestions that may confuse you. Source: over 1 year ago
