OCR works pretty good. ocr.space, ocr.best and cotrans.touhou.ai/ are all pretty nice. Source: 8 months ago
Anyway, this title "Opera" has an interview dotted in between the "Acts" of the photobook, so I thought I'd try my hand at translating it. I've scanned the interview pages in greyscale mode, cleaned them up in photoshop, cropped them, and passed them through an online OCR (http://ocr.space/). I then asked ChatGPT4 to translate the Japanese text. Source: about 1 year ago
Oh if the test itself is just on paper and not digitized you can take pictures then use https://ocr.space/ to scan all the text off it then bring it over to GPT for a spelling correction after then grade them from there. Wouldnt work for writing assignments though since it would fix any spelling/grammar mistakes that were originally there. Source: about 1 year ago
That is a good idea. If you don't have a text, there are ways to convert pictures into text, here for example. Source: about 1 year ago
There's an OCR site I've used before and I just did a quick test with Korean and the characters seem to match decently when I just asked it to extract text. Here it is. I can't remember if it's happened with this one, but online OCR sites tend to get bogged down or limit how much you can do but that site might help. Source: about 1 year ago
Im not sure how much information is in the books. it'll be a pain in the ass if your using the free one with the character limit but just feed it all of it in chunks by copy pasting after telling it in the first prompt your going to be giving it a lot of info then paste all of it chunk by chunk then start asking it questions. If you need to digitize textbooks take a picture of every page then use https://ocr.space/. Source: about 1 year ago

I believe ShareX uses an online service API (OCR.Space) to perform text recognition in images, this tool works offline (using builtin windows api). Source: over 1 year ago
Finally, we have our trusty u/transcribot, who is posting the automatic transcriptions done via ocr.space. They might not be perfect, but certainly useful for long text posts! Source: over 1 year ago
Late response, but here's my best attempt using DeepL and ocr.space as well as a bit of spell checking to the best of my ability. Source: over 1 year ago
I've used a few libraries and I think you're over estimating how good OCR is. Tesseract does a good job for what it is but you should expect quite a lot of false readings. ocr.space is reasonably priced and I've used them in a couple projects with good success but again expect to have to discard bad readings and perform lots of sanity checks on the data you get. No I mean https://ocr.space/. It can extract the characters from the pdf file you provide and deliver it. You can then use that result for whatever you like. Source: about 2 years ago
As a quick follow up to my previous comment… Here’s a proof of concept of the OCR capability from a free API (OCR Space):. Source: over 2 years ago
One thing to be aware of is that ShareX uses an online service ( https://ocr.space/ ) for OCR. Source: over 2 years ago
I use the OCR of QTranslate (it uses ocr.space online, so it's better but a little slower than Capture2Text). Source: over 2 years ago
