• What made you guys end up enjoying Wuxia/Xianxia/Xuanhuan novels?

  I got bored of "slow" updates on some isekai manga so I ended up finding novelupdates.com to read the light novel versions of them. Later on I ended up finding wuxia. But why I kept reading has to do with martial arts, edge, power system, comedy and lore with all it's mysteries.   P.S. I've just found out that there are many novels from different paid apps that are actually originally chinese. I don't know what's the deal about it.   Rule for thumb for cnovel translations is to check novelupdates.com - it's the main sites for links to fan translations (there still aren't many cnovels that get translated into English at this point, so one mostly has to rely on fan translations of varying quality).   Alternatively I might read one of the books by the original author (not the one TTEOTM, I'm saving that for when the drama finishes). Read one with a completed translation called 'Devil's Warmth' that I absolutely loved and can recommend (it's modern day though, not xianxia).   This is kinda a weird answer but if you are at all interested at all like fantasy, novelupdates.com complies all the English fan translations of Chinese web novels. As long as you don't mind varying levels of translations (some I could swear are professional some are definitely high schoolers) there are thousands of novels and they tend to be long so they'll keep you busy. • Looking for recommendations

  Go to eastern web novels for this, specifically Chinese ones. The whole cultivation idea was popularized by eastern web novels. Anything written by I Eat Tomatoes (Desolate Era was my favorite of his) and anything by Er Gen (I Shall Seal the Heavens was my favorite) are good places to start.   There's always a chance an aggregator site will poach your TL - there are some sites that make money like that. Not much you can do to avoid it (you can ofc try to reach out to them and tell them to take it down, doesn't mean they'll comply), except put your TL on novelupdates.com, so more people can find the correct version.   Agree with u/Zhaeus, free sites are generally of lesser quality and it's nice to support the industry by buying LNs.
