There's an odd little retro dungeon crawler called Paper Sorcerer that might work for you. It's always high contrast, but I think some areas are light mode instead of dark mode so you might need something that can invert the colors at points (I'm not sure if something like NegativeScreen would work in games). - Source: Reddit / 12 months ago

Windows already has a built in night light / blue light mode, although it's mild. I prefer using f.lux a more intense warmth. And of course, enabling dark mode anywhere possible, or using themes. They could extend the app compatibility mode settings like they recently did with high-DPI settings. NegativeScreen demonstrates how you can fluently smart-invert pixels while preserving colors. Microsoft just needs to do it on a per-window basis (and early enough that it affects screenshots).
