Name Mangler (19 $) - IMHO the best mass file renamer out there. Its support of RegEx and variables makes it extremely powerful for advanced users, but for basic users it's still incredibly easy to use and quick. The best feature, though, is that if you have files/folders selected in Finder, you can click on the Dock icon and the selection is automatically loaded into the renaming panel. But there's an exception to the exception as well: if those common words come after a full... Source: almost 3 years ago

I have used the Mac app Name Mangler to do bulk renames. You can specify patterns and have it insert auto-increasing numbers. I don't fully understand the pattern you're trying to accomplish, but maybe if you give me a before/after example, I could confirm that Name Mangler could do it. Or you could reach out to the app developer to be sure. Source: over 3 years ago
On OSX I really like Name Mangler (https://manytricks.com/namemangler/) it's the most powerful renamer I've found with the ability to stack tasks. i.e. truncate then rename then add prefix. Source: about 4 years ago
