  • The best Mac Apps to unlock your max potential (recommended by users of r/MacOs )
Name Mangler (19 $) - IMHO the best mass file renamer out there. Its support of RegEx and variables makes it extremely powerful for advanced users, but for basic users it's still incredibly easy to use and quick. The best feature, though, is that if you have files/folders selected in Finder, you can click on the Dock icon and the selection is automatically loaded into the renaming panel. I'm in the middle of a huge mass renaming process and I'm using NameMangler (not sure about which RegEx flavor it uses). My original filenames are long and descriptive. I want to obtain a Title Case Naming (every word with the first letter uppercase); in addition, I'd like the most common English words to stay all lowercase. But there's an exception to the exception as well: if those common words come after a full... Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Help with file renaming. Hi, everyday for work I need to rename 100/200 files, adding a letter and a number before the file name(the letter and the number are crescent, and the renaming is done for 2 files, and then going for the next two files with the next number). Is there a way to speed up
I have used the Mac app Name Mangler to do bulk renames. You can specify patterns and have it insert auto-increasing numbers. I don't fully understand the pattern you're trying to accomplish, but maybe if you give me a before/after example, I could confirm that Name Mangler could do it. Or you could reach out to the app developer to be sure. Source: over 3 years ago
