  I'm not sure how your are fixed with the source (Youtube) or perhaps it the same stream is available on another platform. I use moode - https://moodeaudio.org/ - it's internet radio player, mp3 player, etc. So it would be good it you play a radio stream, but not really Youtube.   I have 3 Pis. One if just a file sharer so my tv can stream videos from it plus its got a few gigs free I can just share files quickly with anyone in the house. Another is connected to my DAC/amp/headphones and which I control via an android app. It's connected to a laptop hard-drive full of flac files. That's running moOde (https://moodeaudio.org/).   I use Moodeaudio as the software. https://moodeaudio.org/ I had to get a small amp for the VU's, and you might need some kind of amp connecting up the speaker. The GPIO can be used with the knobs and buttons, but those are mostly one day plans for my project. Source: over 4 years ago
