  • [Advice request] DIY Airplay / Bluetooth receiver with RPi or other SBC ?
I use moodeaudio You can disable library indexation / update at boot Works pretty well on a raspberry pi 2 I don't know about boot time though as mine is always on... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Wiim Pro to replace Rpi &HifiBerry?
You can put (moode)[https://moodeaudio.org/] on the rpi and have an mpd, Spotify, and airplay server very easily. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Audio options for 3 to 5 zones.
    - MoOde or Volumino - these pieces of software have images that can run on each raspberry pi. They will allow the pi's to show as airplay and spotify destinations. Volumino also has a snapcast plugin. Volumino also has a homeassistant integration for control from there. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Budget or makeshift DAP for roughly $130
If you don't mind doing a little work, a raspberry pi (2, 3, 4, any of them work) with moode works great. It'll do airplay for streaming from your macbook and MPD for playing your library off the sd card. Source: over 1 year ago
  • DAC / AMP availability in Europe?
Here I think I can give something in return. Check out https://moodeaudio.org/ and see if it fits your needs. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Is there a self-hosted software for hifi music streaming?
Check out moOde, a free audio player. You can load the image on an SD card. It doesn’t run within Raspberry Pi OS. It’s similar to Volumio. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I used a Raspberry Pi and Arduino to fix/upgrade an old broken Jukebox
Moode Also looks very powerful, will connect with Spotify + more Definitely targeted at audiophiles Unclear about touchscreen support. Source: over 1 year ago
  • hi could anyone help?
By the way for streaming I recommend https://moodeaudio.org/. Volumio is another option though I find Moode to be lighter weight and the more recent versions of volumio are a nagfest to sign up for their service and lock plugins to an account which is just 👎. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Modernizing my 1980s sound system
Take a look at https://moodeaudio.org which should work out of the box and supports AirPlay2 as well. Source: over 1 year ago
  • (Minimalist) amp + streamer set up
For a streaming features it depends on the software you choose. I don't have a TV connected right now but that could be done. There are several options to choose for software but I like Moode. It's easier to read about the features on Moode's site since the Allo is really just the assembled hardware. Moode . For streaming I mostly use it as a spotify device (it supports other platforms too though) and control with... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Upgrade shairport-sync to dev version for AirPlay 2
Check out https://moodeaudio.org/ They switched to the shairport dev track, so you can test it out. If you are running on a Pi just use a different SD or USB device and you can keep your Volumio install. Source: over 1 year ago

Moodeaudio for mpd speakers, then ampache to stream it. Then outside home ampache or subsonic clients. Source: almost 2 years ago

  • Speaker setup for outdoor patio
The BOSS2 player uses Moode - https://moodeaudio.org/ for the audio player. This is a great little program - it doesn't require an App, just hit the webpage and you are good to go. The real benefit of the Moode player is that I don't have to curate or manage the music - I just pick a station. Or I have been pulling music directly from my Plex server. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Is there a way to setup a Raspberry pi to play a youtube stream to its Aux port and control it over a website? So i can control it with my Phone?
I'm not sure how your are fixed with the source (Youtube) or perhaps it the same stream is available on another platform. I use moode - https://moodeaudio.org/ - it's internet radio player, mp3 player, etc. So it would be good it you play a radio stream, but not really Youtube. You can link it with another device which plays something else (for example Youtube), but it gets more complicated. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Anyone else using expensive headphones with cheap amps?
I have 3 Pis. One if just a file sharer so my tv can stream videos from it plus its got a few gigs free I can just share files quickly with anyone in the house. Another is connected to my DAC/amp/headphones and which I control via an android app. It's connected to a laptop hard-drive full of flac files. That's running moOde (https://moodeaudio.org/). The first Pi is a little Pi Zero W which is also running... Source: over 2 years ago

  • Beginner Pi looking for help and resources for a project
I use Moodeaudio as the software. https://moodeaudio.org/ I had to get a small amp for the VU's, and you might need some kind of amp connecting up the speaker. The GPIO can be used with the knobs and buttons, but those are mostly one day plans for my project. Source: over 2 years ago
