  1) Install/download an actual LaTeX compiler. Example: MiKTeX. Installing one of these will create a set of executables that can take a LaTeX file and translate it into (for example) a pdf. Note the location of these executables in your file structure. Source: almost 2 years ago

  I'll give my two cents on using LaTex for my Resume as well. If you want to start using LaTex I would recommend the VsCode extension LaTeX Workshop. After that is installed you will need a LaTex distribution, I would recommend MixTec for being light. Source: over 2 years ago

  My personal recommendation for an all-in-one package/installation for Windows is TeXWorks within the MiKTeX distribution (i.e. If you download & install this distribution, then open TeXWorks, you're good to go).
