I'll give my two cents on using LaTex for my Resume as well. If you want to start using LaTex I would recommend the VsCode extension LaTeX Workshop. After that is installed you will need a LaTex distribution, I would recommend MixTec for being light. Source: over 4 years ago

My personal recommendation for an all-in-one package/installation for Windows is TeXWorks within the MiKTeX distribution (i.e. If you download & install this distribution, then open TeXWorks, you're good to go).
