  • Not that Google Flights sucks, what site do you use to compare flight prices per airline and date range?
I guess if you really want to get technical, you can try ITA Matrix but thats where Google flights gets their info from. Source: 5 months ago
  • Austin to Bogota
Hi, Starting a new job M-Th, and we have Dec 25&26 off. Wondering if I can fly to Bogotá, or somewhere around there, and back from AUS on Dec 22-26. I checked https://matrix.itasoftware.com and it’s like $800. Anyone know of any other sites that might be better to check for a better deal? Source: 5 months ago
  • Skiplagging: The travel hack hated by airlines is now the subject of a lawsuit
"It claims the website improperly acts as a middleman, "inserting itself between American [Airlines] and flight consumers", and promises to deliver savings, but often charges consumers more than if they had booked a ticket directly with the airline or an authorised agent." Authorised agent? What does that mean? As far as I know, all the flight search engines use the ITA matrix service... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Air Canada "Carrier Surcharges" fee being added to my ticket
Usually there is a way to view the actual breakdown. Alternatively you can find the same itinerary on ITA matrix to see the detailed fare breakdown. Source: 10 months ago
  • [MY CON] - USA tour - Discussions, Information, Meetups, Questions, and Reviews! (Part 4)
Hard to tell which airline they fly on. Korean Air codeshares with Alaska Airlines and Delta, then Asiana Airlines with United Airlines. You may do one-way search on Google flight for June 3? Source: 12 months ago
  • The Layover — Jet Lag’s Guide to Travel
Searching: The Matrix has some really powerful searching tools. If you know what you're doing on the specifics, you can find some really cheap tickets this way. Source: 12 months ago
  • Tips for successful MUA knowledge & application for PM? Issues with Cust Service - when they do recognize what I'm asking, I'm always waitlisted, never cleared. How do I get this elusive upgrade??
Look on matrix.itasoftware.com or expertflyer.com before calling to see if you can find that 'z' fare class inventory. That way you'll have some flights already in mind so they don't have to search forever. If you're unaware of these websites, just search this subreddit for 'ita matrix' or something similar. Under routing codes you want to put "DL+" and under extension codes you want "f bc=z". Source: about 1 year ago
  • Where can I travel to for under $1000
Do you have a Passport? Google flights, sky scanner, and matrix.itasoftware.com where you can check flights. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How to book multi city flights?
You can explore using the ITA matrix multi city option: matrix.itasoftware.com. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is there a website where I can check all the codeshare flight numbers given a flight number?
Hmmm. ExpertFlyer not too much help. As far as I can tell, the flight is operated by Edelweiss. I don't see it offered by any other Star Alliance codeshare partners, looking on Matrix Search (https://matrix.itasoftware.com/) Nb. Enter the search for ZRH-PMI for date in question. It should show any code shares as well as the LX flight. Source: about 1 year ago
  • American Airlines wants to charge me an extra $400 for literally being an American
If you'd like to see this in real time, go to matrix.itasoftware.com and search for flights, then go back and do the same search with a different purchasing city. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Advice on finding "skip the waitlist" for 1k members? Details in 1st reply
I find ITA Matrix useful when hunting for confirmable upgrades. As WP_Grid mentioned it’s all about finding the right fare class. ITA Matrix just let’s you view a larger window of dates while still being able to search by fare class compared to United.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Kids should not be allowed to be randomly assigned
ITA Matrix is a bit tricky to use, but can do that https://matrix.itasoftware.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What‘s the cheapest way to travel to the Philippines from Middle Europe?
Search using flights.google.com . It uses matrix.itasoftware.com (which it already owns) as its backend. If you find a flight to your liking on either platform, you can either purchase through flights.google.com, or copy the fare basis and flight details indicated in the matrix.itasoftware.com search results and present to a travel agent for their pricing. • Flights
Cheers. In that case I recommend you use the ITA Matrix search engine to find suitable flights. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Flying a Dreamliner out of IAH
For domestic IAH you have to search intl staging flights that fly through other hubs and then fly intl (DEN, ORD, SFO, EWR, LAX). I use matrix.itasoftware.com but you can also look at google flights. DEN and ORD used to have a few of these, but frequency is way down and changes happen, too. For this week, I searched and only see one 787 flight and it's to EWR (12:40pm flight - all days except Sat). But schedule... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is airfare always so much?
Using ITA Matrix: https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ I saw ~235 round trip in January for PHX / JAX. ITA looks daunting to use at first, but it really saves me money. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Looking for a travel agency for booking ITA travel Matrix flights
At https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ you can find awesome next level flight. I live in Helsinki and found business class from Tallinn to Bangkok for about 1200€, adjusted the Extension codes to give me a nice chill 27h layover at istanbul. Source: over 1 year ago
  • my dad is terminally ill, how do i find a cheaper flight?
I use this matrix, which is the first result on Google. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Reasonable flights right now?!
I'm looking for flights from December 16th until January 30th. I usually search via kayak or matrix.itasoftware.com/ . I will look at google flights. Source: over 1 year ago
  • which international airlines are still left??
You might have to get a bit creative. Consider getting a cheap flight to Bali or even Sydney, spending a few nights there and then flying onwards to London on a separate ticket. Maybe see if it's cheaper to fly somewhere else in Europe (like Frankfurt or Paris) and then going onwards to the UK from there. Or if you can be flexible with dates, try using Google Flights or ITA Matrix to search across a month of dates... Source: almost 2 years ago
