I started playing in Draft. Usually it's on Friday nights, at your LGS (local game store) and is $15 (i think $15 is manetory). I can't speak for MTG (Though MTG Online exists), but if you want to get into a TTRPG group, it's not too difficult if you don't mind going with a random group if you're using a VTT (Virtual Table Top, Eg: Fantasy Grounds, Roll20), Fantasy Grounds even has a discord where you can look for groups to join.
