Everyone's talking about Lockdown but nobody provided a link, and it's a non-trivial thing to Google so here's their website for more info. Source: over 1 year ago
A little introduction: I am using Lockdown Privacy. It's an app with a local VPN which blocks ads and trackers systemwide on my iPhone en iPad. But strangely enough, it seems that it is using double data. Anyway, it's also not fool proof, so I am using AdGuard Safari extension too. Also on my Mac with custom elements that can be blocked. At home I also use AdGuard Home for my Mac (and some other devices). It's... Source: over 1 year ago
Do yourself a favour and use https://lockdownprivacy.com/ it’s FOSS and will get rid of those horrid ads.. Source: over 1 year ago
PSA: Lockdown does the same thing (they call it “Firewall”), is also open source and is available for iOS and macOS! Source: almost 2 years ago
I would also suggest Lockdown for a more Blokada-like solution that can knock out a lot of ads and tracking in apps. Despite all of Apple's talk about privacy, with many third party apps you're on your own if you decide to actually use them. One of the more popular dating apps used to make my iPhone scary hot in the process of displaying tons of ads until I started using Lockdown. Yes, it was all... Source: about 2 years ago

(I had tried https://lockdownprivacy.com/ in the past and it is quite good) However if I want to block ads in apps and not only in Safari, I use and suggest to add a dns profile. You can find it here https://encrypted-dns.party/ the most famous ones but you can also create them by yourself. Currently, I alternate between Mullvad and Nextdns. Source: over 2 years ago
A good ad monetization to support the developer would be nice. But for all other cases there is for iOS Lockdown and for Android Blokada. I used both, and both seem to get rid of most ads. Source: over 2 years ago

But something curious happens after you ask not to be tracked, according to an investigation by researchers at privacy software maker Lockdown and The Washington Post. Subway Surfers starts sending an outside ad company called Chartboost 29 very specific data points about your iPhone, including your Internet address, your free storage, your current volume level (to 3 decimal points) and even your battery level (to... A free open source alternative is Lockdown. It has both the firewall and a real VPN. The VPN is paid, but they are fully audited so we can trust it. Good thing, the Firewall works on the Mac too. Source: about 3 years ago
You’re right, it’s 1Blocker, but the Firewall feature is part of the subscription and the app is closed source. They’ve been on the App Store as a Safari Extension for 5 years so I kinda trust them, but if you want a free and open source alternative there is Lockdown. Lockdown is also good because of 2 reasons: - These kind of apps relies on a fake VPN connection. Ios allows only one at time, so you can’t use a... Source: about 3 years ago
If you're someone who's able to figure out how to block such things on Android, then you'd be happy to know that this is possible on iOS by using apps like Lockdown that work completely on-device. [1] [1]: https://lockdownprivacy.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
