For those that dont know if you add an album that has multiple album artists ( artist 1;artist b) then plex/plexamp instead of showing the album in both artists pages and showing both artist tags as clickable (same way EVERY streaming service is serving music right now) it populates a new artists page named "artists a;artist b". They keep adding trash features that none cares about or even asks and don't even have... Source: 12 months ago
Just wanted to give quick plug for my music player app Supersonic! It's a client for Subsonic API-compatible servers, so it handles the UI and playback while the server (Gonic or LMS would be good lightweight choices for localhost-only setup) handles the library management/metadata indexing. It's a quite young project but I have lots of plans for continued improvement and new features (and would gladly accept... Source: about 1 year ago
If you're concerned about power usage You can start with just a raspberry pi or something similar running something like Lightweight Music Server which uses a subsonic protocol. Then any app that can connect to a subsonic server like ultrasonic (not sure if this one specifically available for iOS). That's how I started before moving onto Plex and Plexamp. Good time to move your library to something else like LMS Https://github.com/epoupon/lms. Source: over 1 year ago
I use LMS (Lightweight Music Server) to stream my music to desktop and mobile. It supports the Subsonic API for clients, scrobbling to ListenBrainz, has a nice web UI, and for some reason is the only music server that supports volume equalization with Replaygain. Source: over 1 year ago
Not sure if that would fit your needs but https://github.com/epoupon/lms has a radio mode that automatically feeds the play queue with similar tracks. Just seed with some tracks (a whole album, a discography, a single track, etc.) and hit play. Source: over 1 year ago
LMS - LightWeight Music Server Https://github.com/epoupon/lms Super fast with a good set of features. Seems to be well coded in general. Source: over 1 year ago
Hmm, that link shows me my IP address is banned (I assume from the time when the provider I use had dynamic IPs so a whole range is banned). Anyway - is it this? https://github.com/epoupon/lms. Source: over 1 year ago
Https://github.com/epoupon/lms has a built in recommandation engine to help you find similar tracks (in your collection) to what is in your current play queue. Source: over 1 year ago
Https://github.com/epoupon/lms has 2 dedicated sections for albums, to isolate compilations. I guess adding more sections like singles/live albums should be feasible. Source: over 1 year ago
For me playlist management in its current state is fine. In fact I moved from my previous self-hosted music service (LMS) precisely because it didn't have any playlist feature at all. Source: about 2 years ago
I'm running LMS (Lightweight Music Server) using a Docker Image in docker-compose.yml. It looks like this:. Source: about 2 years ago
I'm using a Docker Image for Lightweight Music Server and I have everything up and running. I'm planning to build my own front end using Vue and want to do requests to the Subsonic API of LMS. I've tried this with several similar services based on the Subsonic API without any issues. The reason I'm kind of determined to get LMS working fully is because it seems to treat albums with multiple artists and "album... Source: about 2 years ago
Why not just rip them and either just dump the mp3s onto your device or set up your own streaming thing with something like LMS. Source: about 2 years ago
/r/Plex just added multiple artist support three days ago. Also: /r/Emby , /r/Jellyfin and LMS. Source: about 2 years ago
Activity died but there was Lightweight Media Server. Source: over 2 years ago
I use Lightweight Music Server (LMS) - simple, great UI, works with subsonic API so I have an Android app and there's a compatible iOS app. https://github.com/epoupon/lms. Source: over 2 years ago
LMS refers to lightweight music server maybe that should be more clear in the table, I'll make a PR for that later. Source: over 2 years ago
For LMS (https://github.com/epoupon/lms), it mainly focuses on (custom) tags, multi valued. Basically you can filter your music using whatever tag combination you set. It also handles various artist relationships (composers, producers, mixers, etc.) It scrobbles to listenbrainz and sync listens from it. Source: over 2 years ago
Others: Ampache, Mopidy, Koel, Music Player Daemon (MPD), Lightweight Music Server (LMS), Serviio. I'm not saying these are bad, I just don't know what sets these apart from the "Generic Music Server". Source: over 2 years ago
Https://github.com/epoupon/lms I use the web UI daily while working at home. Source: over 2 years ago
