Do those wallpapers tint the Windows apps too? I know there are a lot of people who hate the effect, but I personally love the Mica Effect, actually I'd love if they used Mica Alt instead of Mica as the main layer (just because Mica is too subtle, at least in Light Mode). I ask because I tried Lively Wallpapers, but I didn't like it because those dynamic wallpapers didn't tint the applications. Source: about 4 years ago

Lively Wallpaper has garnered significant attention as an alternative to popular software like Wallpaper Engine within the category of OS & Utilities, Wallpapers, Personalization, and Windows Tools. With its ability to animate Windows desktops through dynamic and customizable wallpapers, Lively Wallpaper stands out for being a free and open-source option accessible through its official website and the Microsoft Store.
Public sentiment around Lively Wallpaper is largely positive, highlighting its ease of use and the richness of its features. A consistent theme among discussions is the software's ability to transform static desktops into vibrant, interactive spaces, making it visually appealing to many users. In creativity-focused forums, Lively Wallpaper is recommended for users who seek a tool enabling creative expression through custom and animated wallpapers, as evidenced by remarks praising its impressive feature set designed to bring any desktop to life.
However, performance considerations are occasionally noted. Some users have reported that Lively Wallpaper can affect system performance by consuming CPU and GPU resources, an aspect that traditionalists accustomed to leaner software might find critical. Despite this, the general consensus suggests that the reduction in system performance is often outweighed by the benefits of a personalized, visually captivating desktop environment, especially for users with relatively modern hardware.
Security concerns regarding Lively Wallpaper are minimal, though caution is advised to ensure downloads are only made from trusted sources, such as the official website or the Microsoft Store, to avoid potential risks associated with third-party downloads. The discourse surrounding security reflects a sense of mindfulness about maintaining system integrity while embracing innovative desktop solutions.
The software’s competitive edge lies in its open-source nature and active community contribution. Compared to its paid counterparts, such as Wallpaper Engine, Lively Wallpaper is praised for its flexibility and lack of financial barriers, opening opportunities for a broader audience, including those new to animated wallpapers or users experimenting with digital artistic expressions. Additionally, community feedback often highlights the software’s capability to incorporate a diverse range of content – from videos to websites – into the desktop environment, providing a versatile platform for users with varied tastes and preferences.
In summary, Lively Wallpaper shines as a robust, adaptable choice within the personalization landscape for desktop environments, appealing particularly to users inclined towards free, open-source alternatives. While it may come with slight performance trade-offs, the overall feedback underscores its value in delivering captivating and dynamic desktop experiences with a strong emphasis on customization and creative expression.
