Na, not an issue. I create them from kde network applet itself. There are some utilities like linux-wifi-hotspot that I have had good experience with and work with any DE. Source: almost 2 years ago
Do you mean for creating a hotspot? I’ve never tried doing that but have you looked into using various packages out there such as this one instead of the hotspot tool that ubuntu provides by default? Source: almost 2 years ago
I want to add https://github.com/lakinduakash/linux-wifi-hotspot as a plugin for decky loader. I'm very much still new to Linux. Although I do run Ubuntu on my jellyfin server and have some basic experience with that. If someone could ether add this as a plugin or give me some sources to read and watch to do it my self that would be awesome! Source: almost 2 years ago
I have something better than a tip. I have the answer to a possible problem you may or may not experience at some point down the road. That is creating a working Hotspot using the same wifi card that's already in use and connected to a wifi already. Similar to windows 10. Let me 1st say this is not my work I did not create this. I was told it's not possible I even asked this sub and I got the same answers it's not... Source: almost 2 years ago
Open that utility for downloading drivers and install any proprietary driver if there is one for your network card. Other than that, there are some utilities like linux-wifi-hotspot. Source: about 2 years ago
Looking at a GUI control like this one it seems like you just need to specify the wifi interface and the internet interface. Source: about 2 years ago
You could ignore the connection in network manager and manually spawn wpa_suppliant with the required options for this operation mode. You also would need to implement the sharing using manual scripting, or use solutions like https://github.com/lakinduakash/linux-wifi-hotspot that does these steps for you. Source: about 2 years ago
I've poked off and on all week. Linux-WiFi-Hotspot looks ideal, as you'd be able to add the gui to steam as a non-steam game and turn it on \ configure is from GameMode. Source: over 2 years ago

I've set up a Raspberry Pi - together with a ALFA AWUS036ACH - as a software access point. The Raspberry Pi runs Linux v5.10, and https://github.com/lakinduakash/linux-wifi-hotspot was used to set up a bridged access point. Source: over 2 years ago
Normally it should work with realtek drivers too unless your family of card is still lacking support. You can try something like https://github.com/lakinduakash/linux-wifi-hotspot to see if that works for you. Source: over 2 years ago
IIRC you can't do it from GNOME's interface itself, but you can use this tool: https://github.com/lakinduakash/linux-wifi-hotspot. Source: over 2 years ago
I made a wifi hotspot using this gui tool is there a way to block some websites like youtube on the wifi hotspot created? And only on it, not on my computer internet. Source: over 2 years ago
Install linux-wifi-hotspot,that exactly what it does like in Windows. Source: over 2 years ago
The next best thing is for one of the deck to use something like linux-wifi-hotspot to make a Wi-Fi hotspot that other devices can connect to like any other Wi-Fi. Then, if one of the devices opened a Minecraft world and opened it in LAN, you could see it in the multiplayer, and it would take one click to connect. Source: over 2 years ago
Great! What did you use to get it working? I don't have a deck yet to try it out, but I found this, which looks promising:. Source: almost 3 years ago
Linux-wifi-hotspot. Can't say about ubuntu but has a AUR package. Otherwise instructions are simple. Source: almost 3 years ago
Please note when I try to create access point using this tool, clients have internet access but speed significantly reduces. Source: about 3 years ago
Has anyone successfully set one up? I've tried every guide I could find but I can only get a connection with no internet access. I've also tried this: https://github.com/lakinduakash/linux-wifi-hotspot but it doesn't work. I know for a fact my adapter can run a hotspot because I had it setup on windows. It's already possible with Linux software, including an Arch version. Source: over 3 years ago
