If you’re interested in checking the temps of your Mac, there are several tools that you can download, but a good one that I use is iStat Menus. You can add your Macs temperature to the menu bar so you can check it any time. Pay attention to any of the CPU related temps while you’re performing your regular tasks on the machine. If your Mac is regularly exceeding temps of 90°C (190°F) it may be time to replace the... - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
The basic answer is: that’s not how MacOS works. The Dock plays that roll. The Dock is the equivalent of the Windows taskbar. The Mac menu bar is the equivalent of each Windows window menu bar. In MacOS the left side of the top menu bar changes each time you select a window instead of having an individual menu bar stuck to each window. When Macs first came out screens were small then Windows 3.1 seemed to waste a... - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago

You should also consider the menu bar calendar included with iStat Menus, which is currently 50% off ($12 → $6). It doesn't include functionality for adding/editing events or reminders, but for viewing a calendar with a list of things happening today (or the next few days), it's perfect minimalism (screenshot). Its world clock includes some cool astronomical stats. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago

iStat Menus offer this for modern macOS. The disk activity is not that relevant for me, but networking is useful. When I'm waiting for something and there is no network activity I know something's fishy. https://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago

After you've used your Mac for a while, then branch out and address some pain points you just can't abide. For example if you can't live without window snapping, consider Rectangle. If Spotlight isn't doing it for you, consider Raycast. If you must have CPU usage in the menu bar, look at Stats or iStat Menus. If you really, really need something more powerful than the included screenshot tool, consider Cleanshot X. - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
