  The authoritative nameservers for facebook.com. And whatsapp.com. Are unreachable. The ones for instagram.com. Are reachable as those are hosted on aws instead of being internal.   Makes no sense to me to have a completely different domain name, just more hassle with setting up another mail server, domain name, etc. No reason to do all that if you already have @ instagram.com. Source: over 2 years ago
