Glad to see more apps in this space. You app has a nice design! I've been using "I am sober" [1] for 194 days (I installed when I started getting sober) and I really like it. What I really like about the "I am sober" app is that the community section groups you up with people that have the same milestone as you (1 day, 1 week, 15 days, etc), which allows you to not be alone during this processes. If you're on your... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
Try I am sober. It has it's own community for different things and you can even post about your day, and write reviews on how your doing each day. It even has a widget on the homescreen that reminds you how many days you've been sober. Source: 11 months ago
• Use an app on your phone. iamdonedrinking.com is good. iamsober.com also has communities of people at the same stage of recovery as you. One day... One week.. Etc etc. Source: about 1 year ago
I’ve had BED for a long time, and it’s really been like torture to overcome it. I saw on this sub that someone used the app I Am Sober to track their progress, and that it made a huge difference. Honestly, I was skeptical about how an app would make me feel, but this one takes the cake. It makes you feel welcome, it gives you a space to relate to people, and it checks in with you every day to see how you’re doing.... Source: about 1 year ago
I echo other commenters that DBT is fantastic but best with a trained professional leading a group of people learning the skills. There are also DBT apps (DBT 911 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.annadroid.Dbt112&hl=en) and SH prevention apps (https://www.expertselfcare.com/health-apps/distract/ https://calmharm.co.uk/ https://cove-app.com/ https://iamsober.com/ ). The method that worked for me was using a free app called IAmSober and lurking on r/stopdrinking and r/stopdrinkingfitness ... And also there's a really great book called This Naked Mind by Annie Grace that really opened my eyes to how drinking is embedded in our society and therefore easily becomes a subconscious habit, "I need a drink" etc. Source: over 1 year ago
I've found the I Am Sober app helpful: Https://iamsober.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago
This tracker is very motivational when it comes to staying clean. Source: almost 2 years ago
I downloaded an app on my phone called iamsober. I just wanted to keep track of the amount of days I had achieved, but the more interesting part was how much money I didn't spend. When you set up the app, it asks you to enter an estimation of how much money you were spending on your drug of choice. Source: almost 2 years ago
I just wanted to share this app because I really owe a lot of my sobriety to it. My last drink was on October 10, 2021. I used the app "I Am Sober". The app helps keep you accountable by you checking in with it every day, having to reset a counter every time you drink, and it keeps you in a social feed with others who are on the same number of days sober as you. You can also look at what people are posting who... Source: about 2 years ago
Erin here. To your first question, people with bipolar disorder are more likely than those without the condition to drink too much alcohol. One systematic review found alcohol use disorder affects more than one in three people with BD, affecting more than one in five women and two in five men. It’s important to know too that substance use and mood symptoms are closely connected: substance use can cause mood... Source: about 2 years ago
Now, it's no secret here that I am not a fan of AA and it is not the only or necessarily best option for treatment. There are government resources that are great starting points and behavioral approaches like CBT or MAT are evidence-based, proven approaches to help--either way, find what works for you. There are also plenty of apps but do some research on them first and don't rely on them solely. Source: about 2 years ago
Another thing I just thought of too. I like to use one of those tracking apps, so I can measure my streak. It’s a little silly I know, but it helps me visualize my progress. If that sounds like something that might be helpful, I recommend I Am Sober. It’s available on apple and the play store! Source: over 2 years ago
The I Am Sober app has been beneficial to me as I look to make healthy changes. Source: over 2 years ago
For anyone starting their journey - I highly recommend using an app like I am Sober. It provides a counter, daily check-ins, journaling, etc. And lets you track your mood/improvements you see over time. It also tracks money, time, and calories saved. Source: over 2 years ago
Thanks! I've been using this app: https://iamsober.com/ It's been great to keep track of everything. At first I used it a lot for motivation. Now I just like checking in every now & then and seeing all the progress. Good luck! Source: over 2 years ago
I recommend the free app I Am Sober. It really helped me to set little goals and check in 2x daily with a simple morning pledge and evening moods, and tracking milestones kept me encouraged and focused on the win. Just like setting fitness goals, one day at a time! Source: over 2 years ago
I upped my physical fitness and began walking daily. During those walks I started to listen to All In: The Addicted Gambler's Podcast. Where Jaimie in the After Gambling Podcast did a great job of discussing steps in how to quit gambling, Brian felt so personal and what I was going through in the moment. The first few episodes are so raw and perfect that I really got a lot from them. During this time I was also... Source: almost 3 years ago
I struggle with just like you, may stop for a while and then slowly and gradually slip up and decide to go deep. Then I’m saddened and disgusted with myself and my will power. And also there are no local AA places and since I don’t like to tell the whole my business I use a paid app called -I Am Sober- on iOS. Pretty good app so far it’s been helpful and it reminds me that I’m not alone in this. $4.99 for the... Source: about 3 years ago
