Using UFO frame rate check I managed to source that there was a slight difference in the steam deck and gaming PC. I had previously set the refresh rate in Nvidia control panel and it didn't help.   So I've just decided to go full DP. Both panels are VRR capable via DP and QHD panels 10bit limit is 120Hz. To swap primary display to "gaming mode" I've used this old but still functioning Hotkey Resolution Changer as it's super easy to change between idle and gaming mode with it.   On W10 when I change my screen resolution in the settings pane from 5120x1440 to 2560x1440 Windows it does so while keeping the ratio intact (by centering the display image and inserting black rectangles on the L/R sides of my screen).But when I do so in PS or with a soft like HRC the image is flattened to the end of the sides.
