My technique is to maintain my tree off line in Gramps and do online work in the always free FamilySearch. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
Alternatively, there's Gramps (free): https://gramps-project.org/. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
I think you are looking for Gramps. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
I've used https://gramps-project.org/ to find and sometimes to clean up the tree before I started building my own. I'd love to get some suggestions! - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
The Gramps software can do this for you. If you add coordinates to the locations you've entered, it can plot events at that location on the map (for example all births, or all events for certain people). And it lets you draw a radius around the locations too which seems like what you're looking for. It'll be a bit of work to get set up with an imported tree, though. - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
It seems that the Wikipedia article on Gramps genealogy software (i.e. https://gramps-project.org/ ) has been nominated as an article for deletion (see the discussion here). - Source: Reddit / almost 2 years ago
Gramps is what I use. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's very customizable so you can take your own notes or record your own kind of events, not just the types of information that comes by default. From the data it can also generate different kinds of family trees or reports. - Source: Reddit / almost 2 years ago
