Can I change the format that spectacle records? I require recording GIFs for work and so far only have found GifCap that works properly as a gif recorder when combining recording gifs, wayland, and kde. (Kooha records videos in slow motion on KDE w/ wayland, saying this because people keep recommending it to me.). Source: over 3 years ago
If you are looking for something for basic GIF recording, enabling Pipewire in your browser's flags and using GifCap works great. Otherwise, OBS like others have noted. Source: over 3 years ago
Pretty good. I haven't swapped yet do to there being almost no simple screen recording software to record GIFs with (This plus turning pipewire on in your browser works great.) I need this for my workflow and no, not software like OBS. No KVM software like barrier/input leap/synergy (Couldn't get waynergy to install. They do not list what dependencies you need plus I use fedora kinoite.). Source: over 3 years ago
The only thing I need before I can swap to wayland is for either Synergy or Input Leap to support wayland or there be an alternative. A proper way to take quick Gif recording would be nice too. Using gifcap.dev for now with pipewire enabled through my browser (when I am testing Wayland anyway.). Source: almost 4 years ago
