If possible, shop these articles around and see if you can get someone to publish them. Those are going to be what you use as a portfolio, which is going to be way more important than a resume. No one cares where a writer went to school or prison, they only care that you can write. With a BA in Creative Writing and English, you could get proofreading jobs. You can apply with specific presses, or go freelance. You could proofread everything from CVs to manuscripts and academic theses, depending on what sounds exciting for you. I work full-time as a freelance writer. My best piece of advice is to figure out your niche (health, finance, tech, lifestyle etc...) and approach a few brand name blogs or publications and ask if you can write an article for them for free to publish on their site.
