• The best way to play GTA IV at this point is piracy - repack includes tons of bug fix / QoL improvements and performs better than the stock game with the included Vulkan mod.

  Rockstar refuses to let you access online if they detect any modifications made to your game; this can range from graphical improvements surpassing the Expanded and Enhanced releases (which isn't coming to PC) to outright banning players who used a certain mod to access private servers.   Https://fivem.net/ and then you'll have to find a server to join. A lot are "whitelisted" which means you'll have to apply and be approved. Read their rules and and make sure you understand what they are describing so you don't misbehave (in the wrong way LOL).   That's why it's important to know which game. The Fivem site asks for 16GB so coming up short might be an issue. It's not a sure thing as I've played other games on my old 8GB RAM gamer desktop but it had the GTX 970 graphics card and an i7. I knew to not run Chrome with 40 tabs open and game.   Have you ever heard of FiveM? It's a client that runs Grand Theft Auto V PC, but it adds many features, including the ability to use menus, lock building doors, and a lot of streamers on Twitch use it. The entire nopixel community on Twitch uses it. It allows you to connect to private servers. It's extremely simple to install and doesn't mess up anything with your official licensed game.
