  • Sparkle: A software update framework for macOS
Also, as a different approach, to some degree Ferdium can act as a central place for various messaging platforms even if the integration that Pidgin (and Adium) and libPurple provided is not possible this way. Station is similar and a bit better but is in desperate need of developers. Both are FLOSS. https://ferdium.org/ https://getstation.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Is there a place to suggest software you'd like to be on the AUR? If not, let it be here!
I've moved on to Ferdium by the way via the ferdium-electron AUR package. I also use Tuta, Skiff, Google Messages and YouTube Music with it. Source: 5 months ago
  • 1 Gb application size
I'm on linux and use Ferdium - believe that they have a mac version. Prepare to be blow away my friend -- its pretty much "Pidgin"(if you're that old to remember) for any web based application. I have it synced to so many thing. Source: 5 months ago
  • I've built a multi-session browser
Looks good. You can use Ferdium too for that. https://ferdium.org/. Source: 11 months ago
  • Almost full list of desktop web browsers
Please add these browsers: - Blue Hawk (Chromium-based) - BonBon (Chromium-based) - BriskBard (Chromium-based) - Catalyst (Chromium-based) - Catsxp (Chromium-based) - Dashob (Chromium-based) - Ferdium (Chromium-based) - Ladybird (own engine) - Lobo Evolution (own engine) - NetSurfer (Edge WebView2-based). Ferdium All your services in one place built by the community. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Looking for a messaging app similar to Franz
Https://ferdium.org/ <-- based on Franz. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How can I open all the links in the external browser?
Thanks. This is a workaround and doesn't fix the essential issue because I want to make all the links open in the default Firefox profile just like all other Chrome based solutions (ex. Ferdium). Source: about 1 year ago
  • How Do You Manage All the Communication Platforms?
For a long time, I have been using Ferdium for having all communicators in one place. Ferdium (forked from Ferdi, but there is also Rambox and few more apps) is not a smart solution. Basically, it's Electron based frames with common notification framework. Source: over 1 year ago
  • With 2022 over soon, what were your favorites apps of the year?

  • Tell me about your must-have first and third-party apps for Windows 11. Anything goes, both free and premium
I dont think I understand, from their website, what that product is. It just combines various web apps into a single desktop window? Source: over 1 year ago
  • What are peoples favorite free and open source software
On the same note, Ferdium. Ferdium is really nice isolated way of accessing my chat/email/feed/social media. It was annoying when I needed to keep my browser open at all times, and it's more convenient to centralize it in one place that's automatically saved for when I distro-hop. Its dark mode works well enough, and userscript support... isn't mature, but works well enough to block some ads. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Unified messaging platform.
There's Ferdium - https://ferdium.org/ - it's kind like a web browser for apps. Source: over 1 year ago
  • App that takes web applications and creates a software app feel.
I use Ferdium. Its FOSS, forked from Franz. I use it because its cross platform and consistent across all platforms. Also you can make an account and it syncs all apps. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Multi-Protocol Chat Clients
Ferdium [1] will at least cover Discord/Slack/Mattermost/Teams. "Ferdi is a hard-fork of Franz, and Ferdium is a hard-fork of Ferdi" [2]. The available services are listed here [3]. • Tool to Launch and manage all apps in one place?
Someone saved the project and published as Ferdium. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Desktop app like Ferdi but for anything?
There is Ferdium which is the successor of Ferdi, have you looked into that? Source: over 1 year ago
  • Desktop app like Ferdi but for anything?
Most outstanding for me were Ferdium, the fork of Ferdi (which is not maintained anymore). You can add custom sites. Source: over 1 year ago
