I bought eyeglasses from eyebuydirect.com. In my case, they don't even require prescription. I found cheaper and easier doing this than dealing with insurance. Heard good things from Zenni Optical too. Source: over 1 year ago
Being able to see is important. And your mom is likely to notice eventually if you aren't wearing them. If it's just the frames, you may be able to get away with taping them for awhile. It's best to just come out to her, be honest, and offer to help any way you can to replace them. Be willing to wear ugly taped up ones for a little bit until they can be replaced. Glasses are really expensive, but there are some... Source: over 1 year ago
Try EyeBuyDirect! I’ve been buying glasses from them for years and am always pleased with the quality. The last pair I bought from them was like $45 and that included lenses, frames, and shipping. Plus, they’re always having sales (30% off, BOGO, etc.) I got an email earlier today with a $10 off coupon code that I’d be willing to share if anyone wants it. All they ask for is your prescription (they don’t verify... Source: over 1 year ago
After the negative experience with Costco, I use eyebuydirect, and never had another issue. Source: over 1 year ago
Eyebuydirect.com is where I get all my families glasses. They have a try on feature that isn't perfect, but you can get the idea of what the frames will look like on you. Source: over 1 year ago
I actually bought glasses from the forced to exist online competitor from luxotica. They were able to ship a non bifocal prescription in two days from ordering for about $30. Zenni was cheaper but it took weeks. It was actually a shockingly good service if you needed glasses asap. I believe its eyebuydirect.com . I'm not sure if any of the competitors can do that. I'm not even sure that luxotica stores can do that. Source: almost 2 years ago
This doesn't exactly answer the question you are asking but I went to one of the stamford mall optometrists to get my eyes checked and then just ordered a variety of glasses from eyebuydirect.com . They have generic from $20 to brand names like Ray Ban for $150. Quality varies with price point but I've been satisfied with the 4 purchases I've made. Source: about 2 years ago
There are places like eyebuydirect.com where you can get prescription safety glasses from like $25. Get your prescription from your eye doctor, (They HAVE to give it to you) and just shop around. Safety googles do you no good over glasses if they fog up on you.. Source: about 2 years ago
Thank you. I just got eye exam. And my medical plan cover eye exam too. Thank you for eyebuydirect.com. How does it work there? Free try and return? Source: about 2 years ago
Get a prescription from anywhere. Usually they are fairly cheap. Then order $20 glasses from https://eyebuydirect.com. Source: about 2 years ago
If you have your prescription (you can call your eye doctor and have them read it to over the phone) you can go to many different online eyeglass dealers. I use eyebuydirect.com but I am in no way sponsored by them. I usually buy 2 pairs for whatever deal is running and usually spend $60 or less--shipped to my door. Source: over 2 years ago
Serioulsy, look at their eyewear brands -- frames & lenses -- and retail brands (stores they own & run/franchise): https://www.essilorluxottica.com/brands. They even own glasses.com and eyebuydirect.com. Source: over 2 years ago
Not local but I got glasses on eyebuydirect.com for waaaay cheaper than any brick and mortar store (or even Warby Parker). Source: over 2 years ago
If you've never tried eyebuydirect.com I would HIGHLY recommend. I get my glasses for $50-60 depending on your prescription and the frames you pick. You can also return them if you end up not liking them but I switched years ago and I refuse to go back to getting them at the eye doctor. I still go to get new prescriptions but if you ask the doctor to print out your prescription you don't have to buy frames from them. Source: over 2 years ago
Thank you! I get all of my glasses from eyebuydirect.com. Source: over 2 years ago
I use eyebuydirect.com but I think theyve gotten a bit more expensive lately and upgrades arnt so cheap. Plain perscriptions are very reasonable though and I usually get pairs of glasses with frames for $30-$50. Source: over 2 years ago
If you know her Rx, try eyebuydirect.com. That's where I get most of my glasses, and you can get a decent set of frames and lenses, usually for under $50. Source: over 2 years ago
Got some from eyebuydirect.com earlier this year. Source: over 2 years ago
I get mine through eyebuydirect.com. My last 2 pairs were $25 with shipping. Source: over 2 years ago
If you have prescription and know the pd number (pupillary distance, I think it is. If you don't know it, you can measure it), order it from eyebuydirect.com. I have brought from them before and they're processing an order from me right now. Dirt cheap (I am paying $9 for the frame and $36 or so for bifocal lenses. Single focal length lenses are way cheaper). Source: over 2 years ago
Get your prescription from your optometrist, but don't buy any glasses from them - it will be over $250 for a simple pair of glasses directly from the doctor. If you need to go in person to try on glasses, +1 on Warby Parker - they will be around $100 per pair last time I checked. If you need a couple of pairs (like readers) or are on more of a budget, go online at eyebuydirect.com where you can get a pair for... Source: over 2 years ago
