If it isn't a phishing attempt it would be really surprising to me that they would use http. BTW, https://exacttarget.com redirects to an official Salesforce product page, but that doesn't guarantee it to not be phishing. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
You can block much of this traffic by null-routing the email aggregators. One example that stands out in my mind is exacttarget.com (salesforce marketing cloud). Just blocking them reduced our cold email volume by 80%. Apparently it's now the gold standard for lead generation by lazy sales /biz dev teams. Source: over 2 years ago
