AdAway who? Not sure if there is a non root version for Android. I use the Magisk Module to stay "Energized". Wow, it is hands down, easily by a long shot the best adblocker for a rooted android.
Their website is currently a blank page. See https://energized.pro. Source: over 1 year ago
The most obvious thing you can do is to use a custom filter. There are several great filterlists out there but I know most of them are just not enough for some of you degenerates out there who have went a bit too deep in the spicy rabbit hole. One of the best filterlists you can use is by the Energized Protection. Here's the direct link to Energized Porn filter in adblock format. Just copy and paste this in Filter... Same concept, but I personally like to use this Https://energized.pro/. Source: over 1 year ago
This is what I did as well, I added the Energized.pro Ultimate list URL to the blocklist section of Unbound and it worked like a charm. Source: over 1 year ago
Use uBlock Origin instead of uBlock. Why? Because it is the real shit. You do not need another content blocker like adblock with uBlock Origin, just tick the included optional filters in settings and also add custom filters like those from Energized. Also, on your phone, you can simply use Firefox Android with uBlock Origin. Source: almost 2 years ago
Adblock-rust: First of all, the fact that it is written in rust straight up makes it a winner. Well, poor jokes aside, it does an ok job as an adblocker. It is, frankly, half-assed by default but after adding a couple of custom filters from sources like Energized can make it "an OK adblocker". It is nowhere near the feature-rich uBlock Origin but then why am I putting it in the point number 1 here? Firstly, brave... Source: almost 2 years ago
Have in mind that any decent content blocker you can add extra lists or extra rules, like https://energized.pro/ for example, and uBO also has lists built int to block malwares, no reason to use Malwarebytes that is just one more closed source third-party extension that god knows what data they are collection from your browsing history. Source: almost 2 years ago
I have never heard of that extension but since you have UBlock Origin you can use a filter list which blocks those kind of sites the best I can think of is energized its way better than any extension. Source: almost 2 years ago
I'm using the Ultimate pack from Energized.pro but I'll have a look at the lists you mentioned. I'm always looking for better list sources. Source: almost 2 years ago
I don't know what exact product you use, but AdGuard Home (can be installed at home machine, or even on VPS) can be configured to combine multiple adult filters. You can choose the upstream to use adult blocking DNS (CleanBrowsing, Cloudflare Family, OpenDNS etc, perhaps even the DNS service you saw already handle the adult sites well), then add adult filters such as the adult variant from StevenBlack, Energized,... To add to that, use a dns blocker app like Blokada or AdGuard. Set up one of these apps on your child device (or your device) with extensive hosts lists to block ads, pop-ups, porn sites, phishing...etc. You can find host lists on any app of them or get one from here. Source: over 2 years ago
I use root to remap my keys, block games from accessing the internet, block ads systemwide, Spoof GPS for Pokemon Go 2 3, get rid of bloatware 2, make full backups, use a full terminal, automate my device functions 2, manage how my phone operates, repair other devices, and so much more. My phone is my PDA. It runs the software I want it to and it does the things I need a computer to do. Source: over 2 years ago
I'm trying to block ads at the router level, using filter lists such as https://energized.pro/. Source: over 2 years ago
On Android your best bet is to rely mostly on DNS filtering. The regular adblocker isn't going to catch a lot of the traffic outside of the browser because most apps don't accept Adguard's certificate. So the traffic just gets bypassed. So turn on DNS filtering and add an Adblock hosts file like one from energized.pro. DNS will filter everything and catch a lot. The adblocker will catch more specific stuff in the... Just enable everything there is to enable and add complete package from https://energized.pro/. Source: over 2 years ago
Having two adblockers doesnt block more ads than having one, and in some cases may even be worse. If you want to be sure that you're blocking ALL ads, you need to only keep ublock origin and install a blocklist from https://energized.pro. Source: over 2 years ago
Add it together with https://energized.pro/ and you will never see an ad again in your life, and as a bonus it will decrease how much you will be tracked on the internet. Source: over 2 years ago
Don't install too many extensions in your browser because that makes you more unique. Though, I would use uBlock Origins, ClearURLs, Auto CookieDelete and Firefox Multi-Account Containers (with that you can, manually, isolate websites from each other). If you want to go beyond the default filters of uBlock you can activate the lists for cookies, annoyances and Facebook. If you still need more, that one is nice.... Source: over 2 years ago
But the issue is with filters : 1. https://abp.oisd.nl/ 2. https://easylist.to/ 3. https://energized.pro/. Source: over 2 years ago
For anti-virus, your brain is the best. Do not download anything from shady websites/links and use uBlock with some Energized protection lists. (https://energized.pro/). Source: over 2 years ago
Simple DNSCrypt is installed and running but I don't understand exactly how to perform the import blocking domain names, (eg energized.pro or WindowsSpyBlocker ) to add known URLs to the blacklist. Or this one is intended only for dnscrypt-proxy binaries. Source: over 2 years ago
