Before doing that use the free dupeGuru app: Use the Standard Mode (not Picture) and add two folders into it: First, add the top folder under which all the cloud files have been downloaded by LrC. Important: set this folder as Reference (under the State column โ it will show as Blue), so that dupeGuru doesn't delete anything from there. Then add the top folder under which the rest of the files are stored. Run... - Source: Reddit / 13 days ago

Then you must deal with the duplicates. There are plugins like the excellent (but pricey) Excire Search 2022 or the Duplicate Finder. Sometimes they are external apps like Photosweeper (which connects to LrC catalogs) or dupeGuru which can be used instead. The main problem is that you need to decide which of the several duplicate files you should delete and which (one) to keep. It's not always obvious that you... - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
If your main problem is having duplicated files in multiple locations, or in the case of photos, similar ones in multiple locations, you can simplify your process by using a tool to find duplicated/similar files. In this subreddit the main choices seem to be DupeGuru and czkawka. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
I wouldn't automate this step unless you're comfortable losing files, but I'd use Czkawka or dupeGuru. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
I'll assume you have proper backups. I would start by running a simple checksum-based de-duplicator on your primary storage, then run dupeGuru to find and remove similar pictures and czkawka to remove similar videos. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Having helped my father just last week, using dupeguru. It have a "picture" mode that calculate the coefficient of "ressemblances" of pictures and detect beyond 2. Otherwise it's name and size. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Sorry this is what I'm using DupeGuru https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/ works perfectly for me. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
You can use this to find duplicate files Https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
You're basically screwed. I can't say for sure but I would bet money apple changed the file names of every photo imported to their filename pattern and, as such, Dropbox no longer knows those files are the same. Upload them then run a dedupe tool on the folder and get out the android version. I like https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/ as it has a specific image scanning option. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Czkawka should be fine. It can search for duplicates by size and hash, not just file name. Not sure how well Dupeguru will do but it also scans by filename or content: https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/. Also, for overall estimation of dedup savings, Starwind Dedup Analyzer is good: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-deduplication-analyzer. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago

Use deduplication analyzer to estimate the storage savings you can get after removing duplicates. https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-deduplication-analyzer As mentioned, you can use dupeGuru to remove duplicates. https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/ After removing duplicates, you can also use WinMerge to compare files in two or three locations to find ones that were modified recently to remove old versions... - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
Identify the duplicates, estimate your storage savings and remove duplicates using Dedupe analyzer and dedupeGuru. https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-deduplication-analyzer Https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/ WinMerge can be used as well, especially if you have more than two locations to compare. https://winmerge.org/ Prior to removing any data, ensure you have a recent backup job finished successfully. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
Your OneDrive app on your iPhone will sync the camera roll files into your OneDrive Pictures folder on your PC. You will need to consolidate these files with those that LrC sees at x:\LrPhotos. Use dupeGuru to find the exact duplicates between x:\LrPhotos (set it as "reference" folder) and ..\OneDrive\Pictures (or wherever they are in fact downloaded). Have it delete ( or temporarily move elsewhere) the files it... - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
You may also need additional tools before and after you import your photos into LrC. A great companion app ( if you are on a Mac) is PhotoSweeperX . You can also use dupeGuru to weed out the exact (bit-for-bit) duplicate files ( which, instead of just deleting them, can also move them elsewhere, retaining their folder structure) . The โ just released โ Excire Search 2022 plugin for LrC seems very promising... - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
