Experiencing human stories and situations first-hand and putting a face and a name on what exactly happened is one of the best ways to gradually become slightly more enlightened. I suggest Pacifica Radio. They haven't embraced corporate sponsors like PBS and NPR have, and are entirely funded by listeners. Founded by a couple anarcho-pacifists back in the 1950-60s. Folks might be familiar with Democracy Now. Well, that's where the show got its start, and it still airs there. Source: almost 4 years ago
He's so... bothered! If you examine the affairs of the Crown though, it's impossible not to be. The whitewashing began almost instantly. The /r/ontario subreddit posted a pinned megathread that would not allow any critical comments about QEII, the Crown, or the monarchy. If there's new material here, get it to an anti-imperialist publication (like The Intercept, Democracy Now!, Jacobin, or Current Affairs) so it can be properly analysed and reported on. Source: almost 5 years ago
Even more strange, when I play videos from youtube there is no reverb. But when I play the news from democracynow.org, there the reverb comes again (wtf?) so it's not even application specific. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Source: almost 5 years ago
Yes but you have to go out and do your research to find out how it works. For example there was an American article picked up by democracynow.org, citizen.org, truthout.org, commondreams.org, and politico, about 55 US corps that paid zero tax in 2020 spending 450 millon on lobbying. In Canada we don't have the strong skeptical watchdog presence. Source: about 5 years ago
"Unbiased" is impossible, but in terms of being more honest and journalistically ethical and the like, look for non-mainstream media. Shit done without corporate or state backing. Like Pacifica Radio (e.g. Democracy Now). Source: about 5 years ago
I recommend Democracy Now (https://democracynow.org) and other Pacifica Radio programs (https://kpfa.org) instead. Source: about 5 years ago
