Exodus can produce a API file that you can download into cryptotrader.tax. That's what I do and it reports every trade and staking rewards. I have been doing this for 2 consecutive years and it works great! Source: almost 3 years ago
Did you try cryptotrader.tax. They recently changed their name to Coin Ledger. I was able to pull the cvs that I needed from Nexo and just load them in. In fact you can load all the exchanges and this software will figure it out the cost basis for you. I would not attempt to do it manually. Source: about 3 years ago
Got the 8949 from cryptotrader.tax. It gave me the list of trades I did with gains and losses. Source: about 3 years ago
Oh also found out about cryptotrader.tax it's been a lifesaver. What I was using before made it seems like I made some insane amount in crypto when there was no way I did. This got everything looking right and did all the math for me. Bit pricy ($100 to get the final info) but well worth the math help using it. So one more tool to get correct info I need to file :). Sorry, it was cryptotrader.tax , It took all my trades from all of my 6 applications I use and basically summarized my gains/losses. Source: about 3 years ago
I have traded on 3 exchanges, used defi, staked, bought meme coins, and now I am stuck with a mess of hundreds of transactions. I heard people use crypto tax softwares such as koinly or cryptotrader.tax, but I think it is out of the question, as they became too costly because they also include all the daily staking/APY income adding up to becoming 1500+ transactions. Cryptotrader.tax was super easy - Their official partnership with TurboTax made it easy to file once done. Source: about 3 years ago
Hello all! I have run into an issue where third party tax aggregators do not let me upload my ledger history as a csv because it contains margin trades. (cryptotrader.tax does not let me) Does anyone have a recommended service that does have integration for this? I have my ledger csv from Kraken. Source: about 3 years ago
When I use cryptotrader.tax the dates looks accurate but I don't have a subscription anymore. Source: about 3 years ago
In one of my edits I ended up using cryptotrader.tax where they don't count mining deposits towards the "transaction" limits. $50 was easily worth not having to sort out the cost basis myself. Source: about 3 years ago
The team at cryptotrader.tax really spends the time to make sure things are right. Source: about 3 years ago
Cryptotrader.tax just launch w/ NFT support (for Ethereum) which may be helpful too. I had a pretty NFT transactions but it worked well. Source: about 3 years ago
I had good success getting stuff sorted using cryptotrader.tax, which was free because of my account/holdings with Kraken. Using something like that should enable you to get what you need figured out and they'll generate the proper IRS tax docs and capital gains calculations. Source: about 3 years ago
Cryptotrader.tax is pretty good. I was done after a single day with over 20k trades. Source: about 3 years ago
I ended up using cryptotrader.tax and didn't pay anything, sure it was a lot of manual editing of CSV files on google sheets because I did a lot of different things but whatever, I got my tax report for free and then E-filed my taxes for $15. Source: about 3 years ago
I'm using cryptotrader.tax and koinly for now to compare if they're both giving me the same number. Source: about 3 years ago
Honestly, if you make enough for multiple mining payouts per day (not withdrawals), it makes sense to use some sort of crypto tax software like cryptotrader.tax along with something like TurboTax if you have a W2 job or two that past year and crypto taxes. This solution did require me to pay for both TurboTax and cryptotrader.tax, but I was able to deduct the entire amount I would have owed along with my DoorDash... Source: about 3 years ago
Anyways, I realized some of these might be tax deductible, and suddenly stopped feeling sorry for myself haha. I read this article from cryptotrader.tax (switched to them because I didn’t have a great experience with Koinly last year) and they say NFTs are taxed as capital gains? To me, this sounds like I can deduct my NFT losses against my other crypto gains. Anyone have experience here? I’m considering using... Source: about 3 years ago
I input all of my exchange statements into multiple tax software's to see if they would all say the same thing. The ones I chose are cryptotrader.tax, koinly.io, and cointracking.info. Koinly says I owe the least and wouldn't let me properly add the transactions via csv for coinbase pro so I had to use api instead. Cryptotrader let me input all the csv's correctly and shows I owe slightly more than koinly.... Source: about 3 years ago
Look, I think the IRS’s position on this is bullshit. I’m rooting for the Jarretts. But I’m still going to report staking rewards on my CryptoTrader.Tax account because I’m trying to avoid trouble from the IRS in the future. Source: about 3 years ago
1) What shows up in CoinTracker as interest ($613) by adding only Celsius wallet does not match what I received in two different 1099-MISC forms from "CELSIUS NETWORK LLC" ($571) and "CELSIUS NETWORK LIMITED" ($108). cryptotrader.tax gives me a message that Celsius API is not supported at all if I took out loans.
