Within the past 2 years. It was specifically about correlating information obtained from dumps of breached websites to identify users and take advantage of password reuse to hack accounts. The author had a pretty casual writing style and made this process very understandable for the reader. Included screenshots of BreachForums to demonstrate downloading the dumps and matching identical password hashes from... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago

There are sites like crack station, but ofcouse, who know if that (or any other site) logs the input and any successful crack. Source: almost 2 years ago
I think the syntax is john --wordlist=, but I sometimes get that error and don't know why, you can try crackstation.net or hashcat. I forgot, but I think one time I got the error on one vm and tried on another kali vm and it worked.. IDK., but yeah if john doesn't work use another option like crackstation.net. You could try to crack it with hashcat, but first I would try to get it from a hash mapping tool, like https://crackstation.net/. Source: about 2 years ago

EDIT 2: I tried this comment "There are a number of them but most of them are geared towards security professionals and only offer options for cracking the hash directly, you would need to manually extract the hash from the ZIP file to enter it in. (e.g. crackstation.net, GPUHASH.me, Hashes.com etc.) This site however seems to offer a more user-friendly approach of simply uploading the ZIP archive." But my... Source: about 3 years ago

Generally speaking passphrases are sound, but there are caveats that need to be considered. Bruteforcing a passphrase is very difficult (effectively impossible with affordable resources), but cracking a passphrase from it's MD5 checksum using tools like https://crackstation.net/ can be trivial if the passphrase is a commonly used phrase.
