JoyToKey (or Joy2Key) enables PC game controllers to emulate the keyboard and mouse input, so that windows applications and web games can be controlled with your favorite joysticks! Whenever buttons and sticks are pressed on the controllers, JoyToKey converts them into keyboard strokes and/or mouse movements so that the target application will work as if a real keyboard and a mouse were used.

The hierarchy is the following: you create the profile, then add your joysticks with different configs.     Been using Xbox One Elite controllers (both gen 1 and 2) for a couple years now without issue and I even use the proprietary Xbox wireless USB dongle. If you use this "xone" driver then it just works as it does in Windows. It's an evolution of the older "xow" driver where you'd just have to run a command to invoke the pairing process, if anyone was familiar with that driver. Source: over 1 year ago
