When I tried using OBS just to make a video of a game, it was laggy and had many dropped frames. It was hard to use and I couldn't figure out how to stop the lagging. Whereas, the Xbox Game bar was way simpler and the clip had no dropped frames or lag. I prefer to use Xbox Game Bar nowadays. Sometimes I go back to OBS and try it again to see it was a bug and had been patched but I had no success.

All in-game graphics settings were set at their minimums and all optional overlays were turned off. Clips were taken from separate runs to framerate data since screen recording can have a big impact on performance. Thats totally strange, because when you say 'lag' I assume you mean the frame rate? (you can get a free version of fraps to verify that its happening: https://fraps.com/) A problem with frame rate MUST be to do with the GPU, but we don't change anything after the first turn. Drawing the polls screen in turn 1 or turn 301, it makes no difference to what out code does :(. It might be that in your case the game is... Source: about 1 year ago
