WinBoard VS Endless Sky

Chess engines are a good reference for this. The decision-making part is a CLI that plugs into a GUI like WinBoard[0] or Arena[1]. There’s a protocol the engine and GUI follow, such as the WinBoard or UCI[2] protocols, which just exchange text commands via STDIN/STDOUT. #2 - Endless Sky - ALSO inspired by Escape Velocity, but IMO this is more polished Escape Velocity clone and could reasonably be called the modern successor. EXCELLENT space trade/piracy/combat and definitely take some good strategy to get far into the game. Source: 10 months ago
