For laptops it is rather easy to define it as the default search for alfred and the respective browser, but for iOS devices I have not found a way (except some rather clunky and intrusive extensions) to change the default search engine beyond what Apple tells you. MacroDroid is the one that's easiest to use, among the powerful ones. Tasker has more power for detailed functions but the interface is hell. If it were me, I'd install Automagic (free now from automagic4android.com) and use the overlay feature available in the "Control UI" action, and see if those things are something that can perform functions. You might be able to figure out what app it's from by that.
